I have the Liberty version of the P238 and love it. I have gone to defensive pistol classes and put 150+ rounds through it at a time and had no problems. I would love to get my hands on th 938 to try one out.

I like the trigger on the 238, and how it shoots. I have fired several other .380 in the same size, and think it is the softest shooting. Yes it is a little heavier, and is a bit larger frame wise than my hubby's Bodyguard - therefore he has trouble using it for pocket carry, but my Liberty serves my purposes very well.

The p238 is a good pistol. It goes bang every time I pull the somewhat heavy ( 6.5 lbs) trigger. Even with the heavy trigger I find the 238 to be accurate.
I use mine as backup or as a sole carry whenever conditions prevent me from carrying something larger.

We have put about 1500 rounds through ours, it's a very sweet handgun and the wife's daily carry. It's a pleasure to shoot but with the small sight raidus, it's difficult to get on target (nothing to do with the Sig) - takes lots of rounds to get good with it.

I love mine.

It took me a good bit of shooting to become accurate with it, and I'm still a better shot with Mr. Shasta's Kimber. However, it is easily concealable in a multitude of places, and I am able to carry IWB or using a Flashbang holster or using a holster sewn in my bag if on body isn't working.

While I agree with most all that a 9mm is better than a .380, I keep seeing folks talk about how much more expensive .380 ammo is than 9mm. While that was true a couple of years ago, the manufacturers have caught up and I buy my .380 for the same, or no more than a buck or two more than my 9mm. I recently bought .380 at $11.45 per box of 50 for S&B, my favorite plinking brand.

In a gun that small I am wondering how the P938 is for follow up shots? IOW, can you as rapidly reacquire the sight picture as you can with the P238, or does the extra ooomph create more muzzle flip, that it takes longer to get back on target. If it does, the extra ooomph may not be that much of a benefit. At least that has been my experience with other pocket 9mm's and am interested in hearing the comparison on the P238 vs P938.

I agree with most that a larger caliber is generally better, but for regular carry, my wife and I both carry the P238. I carry it in the Bullard bodyguard holster, and a mag holster that carries 2 spare mags. Be SURE to get the extended magazine, it makes the gun feel like an entirely different gun.

I love my 238 for it's ease of concealment. The price difference in ammo between the 238 and 938 is a real consideration. I have not fired the 938 so I don't know what it will be like, but I do love shooting the 238. We were shooting pins the other day and I decided to try it on last few strings and I was very pleasantly surprised at how well it knocked them down. It takes some practice to get the aiming figured out as the shorter length is not very forgiving. I still on occasion hit the mag release with my thumb while shooting, but that is my grip issue. At several price points it is definitely a good option. It would be worth your while to try renting one and running a box or two through it to see if you like it.

The MUCH better half has one and it's what she used to shoot for her CHL. She wanted the Ti 'Rainbow' slide version. So I've never carried it. When we were hunting for her CCW, she shot best with it, given her small hands. I shot the PK380 better given it has a larger grip and better sight radius. But it's been pretty flawless. Make sure the one you get has the newer flat wire recoil spring. The earlier generation had a round wire spring and it would sometimes FTFeed. Once we swapped to the newer spring, it's been flawless. And keep in mind that compact SAs are hard on recoil springs. If you're going to shoot it a lot, get a couple spares.

Last I paid was $11.45 a box of S&B delivered. I actually paid more than that for the 9mm. I paid more for my Hornady in 9m than on the .380. Academy has good .380 prices and mail order through http://www.ammoman.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is where I got my S&B. No tax as out of state and free shipping. At that close a price, I would say shoot which you want and don't worry about the cost difference.

Rangetime at 6PM wednesday for my first report. I just stripped it down and cleaned the goop off, put on a nice coat of TW25b, and put it all back together. Amazingly easy takedown, just like the p238. Ok, exactly like the P238. The slide spring is really tight, which I'm told helps to compensate for the ooomph of the 9mm. It's amazingly light too. Hopefully my rgrizzle comes in soon so I can start carrying it, in the meantime though, I'm going to range it weekly and get used to the ambi safety, since I've never really had a lefty safety. I'm so used to unclicking on the weak side!!

So are you saying it is hard to rack the slide? That's one thing ladies like about the P238 is the ease of racking.
