Texas gun shows: Recent, current, and upcoming.

This thread is something that I hope y'all will run with, to the benefit of all on the forum.

IMHO, it seems like you get the best prices and selection on guns at gun shows. But we don't seem to have
a central place where gun shows can be listed on the forum. I'd like to make this thread the place where any of
us within the Lone Star can post upcoming gun shows, discuss gun shows that they have attended, and swap
stories.

In the past I have posted sales from Academy, Bass Pro, and Cabela's, but it's been hit and miss. Plus we know that
the prices there aren't always the best. Having gun show information here would allow more to attend them.
If you post dates for a gun show, please use the year as well, for clarity.

If this thread becomes a regular feature that members add to, it could conceivably be as big as the "ammo on sale"
thread. Let's try to avoid whining about 30.06's at gun shows, though. :-)

The above link contains dates for the Lewisville (Denton County) Gun Show, as well as Mesquite, San Antonio, and Pasadena.

http://www.gunshows-usa.com/texas_gun_&_knife_shows.htm

The above link may be the best one, since it appears to list all gun shows in Texas in chronological order.

Happy shopping, shootists.

Yes, there's a Fort Worth gun show this weekend - March 10-11, 2012.

I will be there Saturday - window shopping for sure.

Buying something....it could happen! :-)

There are a few gunshows coming up this month around the DFW area close to me; Lewisville, Allen and Dallas Market Hall. I haven't been to a gunshow yet. My purpose for going is to look for a certain pistol that I haven't found in a local gunshop. I really don't want to go to all of the shows, my bank account can't handle that type of assault. :totap: Is there one gunshow that is better than the rest?

I think in the DFW area anyway if you have been to one, you have been to them all. Seems to be the same guys moving from place to place.

I like Dallas Market Hall, second is Lewisville (smaller).

Thanks for the information. I heard Dallas Market Hall was pretty exciting so I'll try to hold out for that one.

The Market show is huge (2000 tables). I went to the fort worth show today (1200 tables) and was shocked by the crowds. Haven't seen it like that in a couple of years. I would expect the market show to be very crowded.

I went to the ft with gun show today also, so crowded you couldnt look around. I bet the max capacity had to have been exceeded. I have been disappointed with the lack of 'deals' at the last couple of shows. Finding better deals on here and some other forums.

It takes some of the fun out of the show when you are elbow to elbow and can't really spend any time looking at weapons. The large crowds also encourage "price increases". Try asking a vendor to knock money off the asking price when there are twenty five other guys standing behind you waiting to pick up the gun you are looking at.

Here's a handy web site that lists upcoming gun shows in the DFW area:

Here's the gun shows around the Lone Star this weekend, plus next week's Lewisville event. The Lewisville event (Denton County) has only been held
1 or a few times, but has gotten a thumbs up from graybeard. It'll probably have quite a few vendors.
