Cleaning the pool, slipped and fell in Gun, IPhone and all.
Grabbed the Phone as quick as I could, Gun I can dry and re-lube later.
laser I forgot about. Turned off the phone and checked the water mark, surprisingly all ok. Took the gun apart to dry. Gun and Laser ok. iPhone ok. Wife mad because she missed all the fun.
Sorry no Facebook or you-tube post. Maybe next time.

a home remedy I've heard about when needing to dry out a cell phone is to place it in a bag of rice.
supposedly the rice will draw out all the moisture.
white rice only though for some reason.
glad yours turned out ok, just thought I'd share anyways

White rice absorbs water many times faster than others.

First thing we looked for. It's a bad day when there is no rice in the house.

Can confirm that white-rice works. Not too long ago one of the boys dropped his ipod touch in a bucket of water... After spending several says in a sealed container full of rice the ipod charged up and didn't miss a beat. Have used this on a cell phone or two in the past...

What?? No one posted the one word reply....the G word
W/re to the phone. I've ruined a couple of cell phones that way; falling in the pool.
The third one I left in my pocket and my wife washed it AND dried it. That'll teach me to either empty my pockets or wash my stuff myself (I'm emptying my pockets).
Amazingly the one that went through the wash/dry cycle still works as a phone but the pullout alpha/numeric keyboard has a few bad keys.
I have noticed that the manufacturers are making them more water resistant every generation.

That happened to me once. But putting it in with white rice didnt work. Was I supposed to put the phone in before or after the rice got to a full boil?

In the absence of rice, you could use the desiccant you have in your gun safe.
Also, did the gun come out of its holster, or did the whole holster come off? Same for the phone.

Gun stayed in holster (Crossbreed) holster stayed on. I was grabbing for phone as quick as I could to get it out of the water. Water mark stayed white, no red thank goodness

My 12-yo nephew was told to put his wet phone in rice.
They found it later in the refrigerator, buried in the chick & rice casserole
Rinse in distilled water, shake it out, then use the crystalline kitty litter.
