What would be best to use that is the easiest on the finish to keep
the ware to a minimum ,I have a cz rami that has a polymer finish.

I have both leather & Kydex. I believe the leather is easier on the finish.

I agree with LT 100%, I have both. The leather is more comfortable and I think it wears less....but the plastic is FAST and handles sweat.

I also agree. Leather is easier on a finish than kydex. But.... I have a need for speed and the kydex is much much faster.

I think leather is easier on my hide.

Although leather seems like it's easier on the finish, I think both can wear the gun just as much. Kydex just get you there faster. The nature of Kydex does allow a much faster draw though.

I agree that leather is easier on the finish. It's what I use most often. But don't leave the gun in the holster for storage. There are chemicals in the leather than do bad things to metal if left in contact for a long period of time.

Kydex (or other polymers) might cause more wear than leather itself does, but... Kydex can't pick up and embed little nasties that will scratch your finish the way leather can.

You can "maintain" Kydex in the kitchen sink, too.

I use whatever covers the trigger and works for me at the time.

I generally use the kydex, but I'll venture to the other side occasionally.

I'll just have to get one of each  and try to decide what will work for me. Do I want comfort or speed.
thanks again for the help.

Normally leather is more comfortable for the wearer. However, you shouldn't store your gun in a leather holster. It can cause problems with the finish due to the chemicals used in the leather making process. Kydex resists sweat, is cleanable with just water, is faster than leather, and if a good deal of thought is put into it, can be just as comfortable.

I use Kydex for my PX4, but I do want one of those Milt Sparks VM2s that everybody seems to rave about.

To each his own, I guess. ;-)
