Did anyone go to the show this weekend and get asked if they bought a firearm as they left? When I was walking out the door, I had a bag with a couple holsters and some jerky I had bought and a guy at the door stopped me at the door and asked if I had bought a firearm. He had an event center shirt on - not LEO. I just said no and I didn't think to ask till I got outside and i didn't feel like going back in to ask why they ask.

I went. Very small show for a $9.00 admission (Sr.). There were so many event personnel there I felt like I was being watched everywhere I went. They were friendly enough, but it felt odd. And no, I didn't buy anything, and no one said anything to me on the way out. Maybe it was just me

As I and a bunch of other "attendees" left, the guy asked if we had any weapons. I said, "Only my own." and went out.
One of the others jokingly said, "Well, that's it then, you can't leave!" I said, "Wrong answer. I have a piece of plastic that says I can leave!" He had a puzzled look for a few seconds, then I could see dawn breaking over Marblehead. He got a good laugh out of that.
I had a bag with some stuff I bought, but no weapons, other than my EDC.
When I went to the Big Town show a few weeks ago, they just checked to make sure I had a receipt for the pistol I had bought. I bought another pistol at the Greenville show last weekend, and they just looked for the yellow "dot" sticker on the gun case.
I think they're just trying to keep people from stealing the vendors' guns. I don't have a problem with it.

I went on Sat afternoon, and here is my review.
There is a sign at the entrance that reads: "No CHL, no exceptions" I did no see a valid 30.06, regardless, I left my "piece" in a fannypack in the trunk of my car.
The facility is brand new and clean. The place was packed.
As for pirces:
1) Ammo cost more that Wally World
2) New Pistols cost more than Gunbroker, and maybe as low as Academy.
3) New rifles cost more than Gunbroker, Accademy.
If you are interested in used hunting rifle or collectible firearms there are plenty to choose from.
I was interested in:
a) Viridian C5L, not found anywhere at the show.
b) X-grip Mag Extensions for my PX4SC, not found anywhere at the show.
c) Sig 556 swat classic, found one seller and asked $1650, Academy asking $1200
Interesting finds:
d) New Russian Saiga AK-74 in 7.68 asking price $645:

e) New Russian Saiga 12 for $445
At the end, I walked out with no purchase, another $9 goes to city of Allen.

That was a good, accurate, & fair review. Yes, the gun show was small but it looked like all of the available space was filled. It is Allen after all and the big show is coming to Dallas next weekend.
I did buy a few things.
2 packs of A-Zoom 9mm snap caps. (9mm snap caps are hard to find lately, except for those cheap plastic ones everyone wants a fortune for.)
1 book, "The Complete 1911 Owner's Guide".
1 laser sight for my rifle.
On my way home, I had to pass through McKinney. As I went through I remembered the new CTD that just opened up, so I made a little side trip to check it out.
Outside the store, I signed up for a shotgun giveaway. While inside the (surprisingly small) store, they were calling people's names and giving away free gifts. It wasn't hard to figure out where they got the names. I head them call my name, so I went up to see what they had for me. It turned out to be the exact same laser sight I had just bought at the gun show.
I guess that's what you call good luck, with a twist!

Yep, they asked if I had any guns when I left. Going in I noticed on butcher paper a big sign "NO CHLs" below it was a 30.06 sign in 1/2" lettering. Noticed on my way out all the entrances had the tiny 30.06 signs. So much for not posting on a city owned building.
