Went out shopping-- hit target, wally world etc.. then off to the local gun store. 200 rounds later and several test drives the wife picked and bought a Glock 19 and I left with a brand new H&K P-30 .40. Now that is a good day shopping. She is all into it and is all set to take the next available CHL class in Sept... I have to say, letting her pick the weapon and test a bunch out was the best way of getting her into the chl. I checked out her target and must say she is a good natural shot. She started off wanting the Bersa offered by Academy-- I did not say no-- instead I offered to take her to our local gun store for some comparison... anyway-- a good day indeed.

BTW, anyone have a good lead on a holster for the p-30-- --sweet firearm by the way. fit is amazing....

That is a great day, and tell her that we are all proud of her for getting her CHL.

I learned a long time ago that I should not be the one helping pick out a gun for my wife. When it was time for her to get her CHL, she was insistent she wanted a 642 Air weight. I took her to Collectors Firearms in Houston and she spent 2 hours there looking around, trying guns on, learning. In the end she walked out with a Tomcat. On my wedding day, a very wise man (married 45 years) told me to always remember two things: 1) YES DEAR 2) Never help your wife shop at the hardware store. I personally extended number two to include "and to pick out guns."

Sounds like a fun day!!! Congrats on the new additions to the family. I have to say I'm a bit jealous about the P30. I fondled one once but did not get to shoot it. If Maximus had put his on sale a day or two sooner, I might not own my Baby Glock right now.

Have fun and tell your wife good luck on her CHL. I'm sure she'll do great!

the P30 is my EDC, check out the CompTac MTAC IWB holster, works great for me!

Also Galco leather holster models for a Springfield XD will fit the P30. For example take the FLETCH holster model # FL440 it will fit the P30. Its also posted that way on Galco's site. I know because I have a tan and black FLETCH for the P30 I used to have and it fits great. Depends if you want leather however. Im also a fan of the Comp-tac stuff.
