Hey guys-let me say in advance I appreciate the help that I get here. You are all very supportive. Moving on to my issue here, I got my CHL in the mail last Thursday, and I have been carrying at various non-30.06/51% locations. My problem is that I am having trouble finding a comfortable way to carry. I don't really have a good IWB holster, so I've been using a cheapo Uncle Mikes that is 1) very uncomfortable, and 2) thick and not easily concealed.

I need suggestions on what holster to get. I don't mind spending up to $100 on a holster if it will work well. I'm about 6'1"/250 lbs and I have always been big boned. I have a bit bigger of a belly than I'd like, but it's not too bad. My leg muscles have always been huge because I play soccer and several other sports. Does anyone know of a good IWB holster for an H&K P2000? I'm left-handed and I would like to carry at my 9:00. Any suggestions on a shirt to wear over it? Thanks again everyone.

Robert. Do a search entitled Cover Garments. You will find about 300+ posts on it. Also you can look under "What Works, What Doesn't" & in Dec. of 04 there was a whole discussion on cover. It was good & very informative. Also if you will PM me an address I will send you a large list of quality holster makers. You can look at them on the net. You are really on target knowing that the quality holsters are worth every nickle. There is no reason to be poked, prodded & uncomfortable all day long.

+1 A good holster makes is much more comfortable....when I used a cheap holster, I was much more likely to just grab a mouse gun or not carry at all

I prefer leather and there is some good stuff out there! Good luck.

When I carry a large gun IWB (like my USP45), I tend to wear 2 untucked shirts. Oversized loose shirts work pretty well. I pretty much wear T-shirts or Polo Shirts on top. Some color schemes work better than others. Dark is good...Hawaiian prints work well.

I've found that wearing my wheelgun, any untucked shirt will do.

Carry a 1911. Problem solved.



Really tho, a good holster will make all the difference. IWB is definitely the way to go for a deeper concealment.

From the Lightning Arms site above, you can pick up a Sparks Watch Six for just under $100 with shipping. They may even have a left-handed in stock. If that won't do it, I don't know what will. It doesn't have a reinforced mouth (the VersaMax II does), but I don't miss it. I can still reholster one-handed. I'll sacrifice the reinforced mouth for even more comfort and concealability.

I should have mine in a week and a half or so. Too bad I'll only get to carry in the house for another two months

I may regret it, but it will not be my first regret, but I sold all of my holsters other than the Answer on CTAC. I liked mine so much I had Rob mail me a a matching mag holder. He is making one for my P7.

Thank you and thanks everyone who responded! I am at work right now and these wonderful IT guys have blocked all "weapons" realted websites, so I will have to check some of these links out at home, but I will definitely take a look!! Hopefully I find some comfort fast!!

Brommeland Gunleather - the MaxConV. He makes a premium grade ($95.00?) and a service grade ($65.00?) with the service grade not having the detailed boning of the premium grade. I have both and use both. It's one of the thinnest holsters out there and does not have any mouth reinforcement, but one handed reholstering is a snap.

Gary Brommeland is one of the top holster makers and hangs out at the combatcarry.com forum. I think his website is brommelandgunleather.com. Top notch.

I second the MaxConV for a great option.

I'm a big fan of the CTAC from Comp-Tac. It's great in that it conceals well, is comfortable and I can wear it with any style of clothes, including a tucked in shirt.
