Took the new Kimber to the range last night, all I can say is WOW! It is one fine shooting pistola! I read in the book it will take 500 rounds to break in so I ran 100 through it last night BUT one time it did leave a round in the magizine, someone else mention theirs did that. Will that pass as I brea kit in or will I need to have something fixed. With only 8 rounds for defense I would like it to fire all of them

Should break in as the spring begins to flex a little. Sure don't be concerned before 300+. Run the 500 & have fun learning the now gun. Keep it clean.

Diode,
My Warrior had issues on the first couple magazines.
Bought some Chip McCormick 8-rnd'ers, and we have been rocking along ever since.
I'm somewhere close to 2000 rnds thru the Warrior, and it has not hiccup'ed since the first couple of trips.
Longtooth has good advice; don't be concerned about too much on your sub-300 rounds.
Just focus on putting small holes downrange.
And as
Cyphur will now admit, there is something about shooting a .45 pistol ....

I really love shooting my full size 1911 that's why I figured a carry .45 was a great idea. Cyphur's picture sealed the deal for me .

A good break in and a good oil. I have recently been using an oil called "Gun Butter" and it works wonder. The clean up is much easier as well.

Don't faint at the price. It is takes very very little application. Here is a link that might help.

Mine sometimes has issues feeding the last round of the magazine, but I told myself I would clear 500 to 600 rounds through it myself before I started worrying. I have one Kimber mag, and two Wilson Combat mags. It seems to happen more on the Kimber than the Wilson's, but it does happen on the Wilson's from time to time.
I love my Tac II Ultra, its light, a joy to shoot, and quite a beautiful gun. My next Kimber will be a prio series size, only for a little more distance, but I am not sure if I'll ever get ride of the Tac Ultra. I know
The Marshal is dying to shoot it, if he'd ever call me back

Invest in some quality magazines. Wilson Combat, Metalform, CMC, and Tripp Research are all companies that made quality magazines. Lube is important too.

+1, I like the Wilson 47D the best. I have Metalform FBI mags and was not impressed, but I have always liked the Wilson.

HaHa one of my dad's friend is a retired police captain and he carries an 8+1 kimber .45. He always says that 8 rounds is 7 more than he needs...

Mr. I don't trust cocked and locked.
Maybe next time you'll listen.
