reliability question

Taurus Mill Pro PT145 with nearly 8 or 9 hundred rounds so far ,
one time at the range i had a FTF .

i'm thinking it was due to a combination of a little limp wrist and the feed ramp dirty from about 100 rounds .
i have been back since and had no problems .

i voted minor problem due to the one incident .

In four hunnerd rounds with Slim, 3 FTE's, all, IMO and the opnion of an informed associate, due to a dirty gun (was the tail end of evey range session) and a limp wrist.
first 50 of every range session are flawless (when you're strongest, and the gun is cleanest. makes sense.)

the revolver is spot on with .38's and .357's alike. although, I ain't much fer shewtin the big'ens cause with that little thang it hurts mah thumb!!

PT100 - - - No problems, very accurate. I sold it because I didn't like it as much as the guy i sold it to did.

I own three Taurus guns so here's the breakdown:
1911 w/night sights = flawless, no problems
Millennium Pro 745 - mags kept dropping out - sent it in to Taurus - they replaced the slide - no problems since.
Model 605 .357 snubby - cylinder locked up when new - after 150rds problem disappeared, flawless since.

Mil Pro PT145 over 600 rounds. It only jams when I shoot one handed (limp wrist?) and that only happened a couple of times. I've just read too many bad things about Taurus. I won't trust my life with it. I'll carry it for a BUG behind my Glock or Sig but never as the only gun I carry. I'm just being honest about it, not trying to start a debate.

I will be picking mine up from Academy this afternoon. Can't beat $329.99 for a brand new one (all black, but that's fine with me). I can't wait!

I couldn't vote twice. I voted for my PT145, with no problems.

My wife has a PT145 also. She has many FTE, probably due to limp wrist. But she has had some FTF, also.

The wife's PT 111, after about 250 rds, started getting the squeeze/clicks instead of the squeeze/bangs. Sent back to Taurus so the weak firing pin spring could be replaced. So far, has worked ok since.

While I don't own one now, I have owned three Taurus 92 varieties in the past and never had a single problem with any of them. All had to disappear as the (then) wife was producing kids faster than I could pay for them. (Three in four years). We eventually got that figured out...........

I didn't because there isn't an option for Taurus says "Its not an issue." On many 24/7 pro pistols, and possibly other DA/SA capable pistols in their lineup, it appears that you can set the safety and still fire the gun. The flaw comes into play when the trigger is not fully forward and the safety is engaged. Depending on how far rearward the trigger is the weapon can be fired. Now my 24/7 OSS is unaffected and newer versions of the 24/7 Pro (Novak sights and without the ribber grip) have also appear to have been fixed. Possible reasons the trigger may not be in the forward position are:
#1 Finger on trigger (Most likely).
#2 Debris in the pistol's mechanisms (Possible, even likely for some of us).
#3 Wear or damage to the pistols mechanisms (all things mechanical experience wear).

If the gun is kept clean, well maintained, and the operator keeps their finger off the trigger then this issue will not manifest itself. Now to me I am annoyed with Taurus and do not like their policy regarding the 24/7 Pro flaw. With that said I do not let that bother me when I purchase products they have produced besides that one. I happen to own, or have owned the following Taurus products:

Taurus Pistols:
PT1911 (.45 ACP): No manufacturer issues.
PT 24/7 Pro (.40 S&W): Above mentioned Issue.
PT 24/7 OSS (.45 ACP): No issues.

Taurus revolvers:
The Judge: No issues, other than finding ammo.
The Judge, Public Defender: No issues, other than finding ammo.
Rossi R35102: (.38 special, 5 shot snub nose revolver, made by Taurus).

I chose not to vote since my situation was not directly addressed. I had minor problems with the magazine randomly being ejected both while shooting and while the gun was in a holster. The problem was serious enough that it caused me to not trust a PT145 as my carry weapon. The pistol was looked at by a local gunsmith who could not find any issues, but I never sent it into Taurus. Instead, I traded the gun in for another one.

On the plus side, the pistol was very accurate and I really liked shooting it aside from the magazine ejection problem.

My PT-111B, Millenium, non-Pro, 9MM, has had no problems of any kind.
I fully trust it with my life to fire at any time, with any kind of ammo.

I started keeping a log of my range sessions. So far I have put 1,210 rounds
through it. I haven't even cleaned it yet. I have this nagging fear that once
I break it down for a deep cleaning, that it will never fire again.

Something like when I was 16 and thought I could do my own car repairs.
Then I had to take the car to the garage to let a real mechanic fix it. :-)

I have the same problem with my PT145; only while firing. I think it has something to do with how the mag release sticks out. If I don't watch my grip I accidentally push the release. One of the mags that came with the gun was faulty and Taurus replaced at no charge with a 10 day turn-a-round. Can't complain about customer service.

My intention is to eventually replace it with something like a Kimber Ultra Carry II with Crimson Trace laser. My Para GI Expert has converted me into a 1911 fan.
