How did everyone do at the gun show? I attended Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM an was somewhat suprised. I purchased 500 rounds of .223 in brass case FMJ for $205 but that was all. I found an AR-15 the was selling for $850 (about $300 less than any others I saw.) The gentleman said it had a Colt upper and he did not remeber the lower and it came with two 30 rd mags. I continued to browse thinking I would return, but when I did it was gone. Well I'll keep trying to find an Academy that has stock, if they ever do again. Everything else seemed about 10-15% higher than I could get from a retailer. Anyone else find anything of interest?

I wnet dow there at 10:00am on Saturday. I saw the line was about 5 people wide and snaked from the door to the parking garage, and I decided there was nothing I needed that bad. I didn't even try to find a place to park, but I saw people parking on the other side of IH35 and walking over...

The crowd was a little thick, even when we were leaving. Parking was not so bad. I not sure, but my feelings are that gun shows are becoming a poor choice if you are looking for a deal. I hope all this commotion will blow over soon, but I won't hold my breath. The days of haggling for a deal at the gun show maybe long gone.

I went, and got there about 1pm. The lines were rediculous, and when you got inside it was shoulder to shoulder at every table. Walking was difficult, it was so crowded. AR's, AK's, and SKS's were the hot item (as to be expected) and boy were the prices jacked up on them.
The guns shows should be renamed "Military rifle and pistol shows" because that's pretty much all that is sold. There were very few tables that actually had new hunting type of rifles.

Got there at 8:45 and stood in line about 300-400 back from the door which continued back to Market Center Blvd! We left at 1:15ish and there was still a line but only back to the parking lot.
I picked up a Rock River Arms lower built with CMT parts and a mid-length RRA upper, which I wanted over the carbine version, in .223 . Price of $1033 out-the-door wasn't too bad considering what many were asking. There were some cheap Olympic Arms AR-15s to be had but I wanted something that wasn't junk.
Also, picked up a couple cartons of primers.
It looks like the complete AR-15 rifles had hit a price where people were balking as there wasn't the "buying frenzy "of AR's that there was at the last Big Town show. Admittedly, the folks at Model 1 Sales were doing some big time business in AR uppers. They were swamped!
I do want to grab an upper in .458 SOCOM but there's no rush on that.
Unlike the other poster, I saw several tables with hunting rifles, mostly Remington's and T/C's.

I got there at 0815 and the line was almost back to the parking garage, finally got in and it was elbow to elbow.I picked up a keltec p11 at a good price and decided to leave at 10:00,there was just too many people to enjoy it.When I got back outside and to the parking lot, there was a line that stretched from the door to the parking garage clear back to the market hall street. Most of the dealers had 3 or 4 people just doing the paperwork.Thats the most people that I've ever seen at a show.sj

Ventured down to Market Hall gun show Sunday around 1pm.
Parking not a problem, absolutely no line, not too crowded inside.
About like any other Market Hall gun show that I've attended over Thanksgiving weekend - except the prices were higher.
One of the ticket-takers at the front door said they had 7,000 people visit the show Saturday...she said that 5,000 is more normal for the "Thanksgiving Weekend" gun show.

I've worked DCSA tables there since 1995 and it was the biggest crowd I've seen before. But ... lots of looking going on and not as much buying (according to other vendors) as at show in FW a couple of weeks ago. Methinks many put off by the jacked up pricing. Even beater AKs were priced around $800.
An hour before close today there were still quite a few Plain Jane ARs to be had (for around $1200). A couple of vendors had brought in pallets of 7.62 x 39 ammo ($140 per 500) - and it looked like they were going to be taking about 30% of it home.
We had more than normal interest in Handguns 101 and CHL classes. But, unfortunately, soft economy seems to be inhibiting some folks who were there to sell personal guns. In fact, I talked to one man today who had recently been laid off due to even gas well drilling slowing down ...

I agree that
many are put off by the increased prices. Wait a little while and they may begin to realize that they will have to lower their prices. When it comes to AR's and AK's - the best deals are not at the gun shows anymore! They are outrageous!

Knew it would be a gouge-fest and didn't bother going.

I usually try to attend but had family in and could not make it. I thought there would be some gouging going on. I almost left early and went my wife told me to go. But decided they would not have any AR parts that I needed except for the overpriced ones. Glad I stayed home.
