Blazer Ammo and Pasadena Shooting Center

The following image was taken at Pasadena Shooting Center by myself a few years ago with my cell phone camera. They claim that Blazer ammo will do this to guns. Is this just to care poeple into not shootng blazers? They already have a policy against using blazers (most ranges indoors do not like aluminum all over)

Not sure why they would have a display like this. The shooter may have been using Blazer when the failure occured, but that doesn't mean it was the cause. I have put 2-3K rounds of Blazer .40 cal through my Sig P226 with no issues. It used to be the cheapest factory ammo I could get. I haven't fired it in a while as the UMC ammo at Walmart is a better deal at the moment (I think, haven't really checked it out recently). I would use Blazer ammo in any of my guns without a second thought.

As far as mixing the aluminum casings with the brass, this may just be an issue that they simply don't want to deal with. I have never been told that I could not shoot Blazer ammo at any range I've been to in three different states, so who knows.

Normally its because they don't like having to sift thru the "once it hits the ground its ours" brass

They sweep those up and sell them to reloaders for a pretty penny, aluminum cases they have to hand sort, steel they just use a big magnet

I've used thousands of rounds of aluminum-cased Blazer in 9mm and it works great. I seriously doubt Blazer as a brand had anything to do with blowing up someone's gun even once, never mind twice at the same range.

It's a scare tactic. If you shoot Blazer ammunition it damages their profit margin.

It's dangerous stuff and you should not shoot it, so if you have any 9mm luger, .357mag, or .38spl that you have purchased, you should just give it to me and I'll "dispose" of it properly!!! :tiphat: :woohoo

I agree and I'll take care of any S&W .40 anybody needs to get rid of.

Probably about 1200 rounds of the stuff through my Sigma without a problem.

Yeah, I know the stories. I have no trouble with that trigger. One thing for durn tooting sure, I don't want some hair trigger on a carry weapon. End up knee-capping myself.

I've put over 5000 rounds of blazer downrage during classes/training/matches.

Never a problem.

If Blazer ammo had been shown to blow up four guns total, ever, anywhere (never mind at one single range), then Blazer ammo would no longer exist.

Blazer aluminum ammo is my absolute favorite factory range ammo. It is clean and feeds great in my guns. Most people would call me a liar if I came up with the number of these I shot in 2007

I also love Blazer either in Aluminum or Brass. It is my favorite range ammo and is priced right at Wally World.
