Texas in 29th Place!

#1

Post by Liberty »

We still have a a ways to go we are only in a 3 way tie for 29th place place on the Brady bunch hit list .Tied with Georgia and Vermont. Hopefully in 2009 we can move it down a notch. The very idea that states like Lousianna and Oklahoma beat us gives me heartburn. What can we change to move our place on the list a little higher.

According to the Brady bunch there are certain things we need to work on improve our ratings.

GUNS AT WORK
Are businesses forced to allow guns in the workplace? No
Texas - There is no state law forcing employers or businesses to allow guns on their privately held property.
Passing the parking lot bill will do a lot to improve our standings with the Brady's

GUNS ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES

As mentioned in other threads recently We need to move forward with Gov. Perrys Suggestion that we allow CHL carry in our universitys. If we take it a step further and allow gun carry in our our schools we certainly be making positive steps to endear ourselves to the Bradys. Unfortunatly I think we are getting a little bit of a bum rap because they don't seem to acknowledge that we are allowed some limited carry on school property.

CHILD ACCESS PREVENTION - CAP
Are gun owners held accountable for leaving guns accessible to kids? Yes

State law holds gun owners responsible if they leave a gun easily accessible to a child under 17 years old and the child uses the gun to injure or threaten someone.
I think this will be the toughest to implement and I see no one actually working on this to get it changed. I think the Bradys are being unreasonablr in getting this one changed.

We deserve to be #50 and need to work to achieve this #29 just isn't good enough!

I agree. I'm deeply embarrassed that this great state is in the middle of the pack in such an important area.

Doesn't it cost the brady folks like $6.00 to mail a packet about their cause?
Why don't we all request a sign up packet from them via snail mail to use a kindling?

I dunno... I got enough kindling.

Maybe if we signed up for addresses that exist but don't accept junk mail? Something where the stuff would be sent back as undeliverable. Costing them even more.

If they send postage paid envelopes with the packet then send them back empty. That way they have to pay for postage both ways and get nothing.

Actually, the anti-CHL folks tried to amend our CHL bill to allow only open carry. Their theory was that the general population seeing non-LEOs walking around with guns would prompt a political backlash that would result in repeal of the carry law. I believe they were right.

No, send them back full. Over-stuffed, even... if they exceed the limits of first class postage, they have to pay the overage.

If you guys want to come pick them up, I could be good for an ongoing supply of misc. spent handgun bullets. Lead would be quite efficeint at running up postage due - and send a message in more ways than one. ;-)

But then again, if the price of metals keeps going up, they might learn to recycle for profit, so maybe not ...

Not to mention the fact that those whinny windbags would get the media all upset at out "Death Threats" by sending them something that once had a dull point on it. The way the lyin' 'Lie In' sideshow performers are claiming to have been bullied and threatened when the only shoving was done by their side.
