I'm probably the only one here that doesn't know the answer to this question.

Thanks.

An interesting review of the Glock 17 by Stephen Camp.

I have never read anything but Glocks being reliable with just about anything you feed them on the +P side. They are a bit picky with under powered ammunition.

I believe that the official stance from Glock is that you should only shoot high quality factory ammunition....I realize that does not answer your question ;-) I have moved many a factory Gold dot through mine

124 grain +P Speer Gold Dot is the only defensive 9mm ammo I feed my 19. I've put at least 200 rounds of it through the gun and see absolutely zero signs of wear on the gun. These things are tough.

I've not known of +P ammo causing any problems with Glocks at our place. In fact, I've shot a number of Winchester Ranger 127g 9mm +P+ through mine. It came highly recommended by a cop buddy/gun geek.

April 2006 witnessed chrono results from his (very well broken-in) Glocks
Glock 26 Avg. fps: 1268 fps
Glock 17 Avg. fps: 1372 fps

FWIW, my new Glock 19 (with only about 25 rounds of FMJ through it at the time) clocked "only" 1218 fps with the same ammo ...

Funny how some of us won't think twice about beatin' the snot out of a Glock, but don't want to put even +Ps in a polymer Kahr ... ;-)

Some say the 1st and 2nd gen glocks that have the 2 pin frame were not meant to handle +P ammo. but the 3rd gen (3 pin frame) should not have any prob with any thing you can buy "over the counter". you might venture over to Glock Talk and ask you question.

Kahr claims their polymer guns are fine with +P ammo . . . thing is, my P9 didn't work with any ammo. Defect-riddled, wretched piece of worthless trash.

Replaced it with a G26, which, while it isn't as neat a package, has the virtue of actually working.

My standard carry load is Speer GDHP +P+, but I'm considering a switch to the Winchester Ranger 127 +P+ since the first load is getting harder to find.

Heck, I use Federal, Winchester and Speer +P+ rounds in Glocks and Sigs with no ill effect. Been doing it for about the last 20 years. In the time I spent in Federal LE with access to almost unlimited ammo for practice and qualification, I replaced springs on some of my guns, but the guns took a lickin' and kept on...... well you know.

I don't think I use +P+s in High Points or Kel-tecs.

I have a Kel-tec PF-9 and I use standard velocity ammo in it.

I carry a Glock 19 now and I shoot +P+s in it all the time. Nada Problemo.

"My standard carry load is Speer GDHP +P+"

Where do you get those?

I get a report of .40 Glock duty barrels deteriorating rapidly during qualifying. Can anyone confirm this?
