dleewo's post is the 1st in 3 days...does this mean ammo shortage coming to an end? My closest walmart still has nothin (US183/620) but they never do seems like. Actually I am OK ammo wise and I have started to reload 9mm/40/380. I have 2000+ 9mm brass so hopefully I wont have to buy any 9mm practice ammo again. Unless the price comes close to my reloading cost about 10c/rd.

Carter's on Wilcrest has lots of 40S&W, many flavors and prices, Wolf 9mm all you can afford (no limit, around $12 a box), some 45 Blazer Brass for $25, and even some FMJ .380 for $30 a box, limit one. I understand supply/demand and market value, I just can't/won't pay above MSRP for anything. When you can find .380 at Wally, it's still at a fair price. Academy has moved up a bit, but it's still less than $20, finding it in either place is problematic.

Bass Pro in Pearland is loaded with many flavors of 45ACP, 40S&W, 9MM, 38 Special, 357 Sig, 41 Mag, .223, FMJ and self defense on most calibers. Prices range from normal to moderately overpriced. But they had LOTS. They even had WWB 100 count 45 ACP for $38. I think we've seen the worst of it and things should get back to relatively normal (I hope).

Academy i-10 and near Bunker Hill/Blalock. .40 S&W Brass Monarches 16.99 per 50. There's rough 30 or so boxes? No 9mm.

im noticing a trend here. yesterday at walmart there were about 6 boxes of 9mm. 2 of those were WWB 100 value packs.
the surprising part was ...this was late in the day .

The two wal-marts by me had empty cases (mid-cities, dfw). Would be nice if this hoarding mentality would dissipate.

Tell me about it.

My favorite stops (DFW) are Academy Sports and Wal-Mart.
I am making friends everywhere I go.

I stumble upon boxes here and there.

Anyone know of an on-line source for an occasional box of 9mm or 45. Not interested in hoarding, just a periodic trip to the range.

Slow and shipping is ok, just trying to get a few boxes from time to time.

Thanks.

Note: I am not associated directly with either site... I've just ordered product from both and had good luck with them.

You might want to look at Cabela's and Bass Pro:

http://www.basspro.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a shame that Academy & Wal-Mart doesn't offer online purchases for ammo, as they have the best prices.

I ordered 250 rounds of Winchester Ranger LE in 357 sig from Ammo to go. Just got it yesterday. They had nothing in 380 or 40. Didn't check 9mm.

With the exception of basspro.com (out of stock, but will take an order for 30 days down the line), there rest have nothing for plinking ammo and/or the prices are about 3x the pre- omgitsobamaarrgg hoarder prices.

I drove by basspro, 2 walmarts, and academy today to look at their bare shelves.

If you notice any other online resources to order a couple of boxes of reasonably priced target ammo, please put up a post.

Thanks
