Well I really love this site so far. TONS of information and what looks to be a very responsible group. Nice to see. Well as for me:

I'm 30, single and just purchased my first handgun (XD9) Love it by the way. Grew up shooting and with a few guns in the house.

I'm in the food service industry.
No CHL yet but will take class in a few weeks.
I'm intrested in too many things.

Hope to get to know you all well in the future. You all seem a humble group and not affraid to admit mistakes. My first post was in the ND thread of the never again section. Its a good one.

I'll see ya'll around.

Hi folks,

I found this forum while seeking out info for my renewal. I've found a lot of good info and noticed a few folks live in League City. I doubt I know who you are as I've just lived here 2 years. I'm a native Texan that has continued to move down the state. Born in Lubbock and raised in the panhandle. I'll chime in now and again. Nice to be here.

JinH, welcome aboard. You have no idea what you have posted for your 1st post here.  Many of us are FROM Lubbock. MHS Plainsman here. I am returning there next week for vacation time. The wife's Dad & one brother still there. Do a search on Lubbock & see the fun we had about being FROM there. How long you been gone sir :?: :?: If you knew Buddy Holly personally we may have been neighbors. ;-)

Hi guys.I'm very new to this site,so here goes.I'm 62 and Texas born and bred.I live in waxahachie.I got my 1st CHL back when they 1st came out, renewed it once and then had to move to Missouri because of my job so I turned it in.I spent 2 years there and came back home as soon as I could. It expired last october and I'm in the process of renewing it now,I don't ever plan on moving out of Texas again.once I get it back I will be carrying one of these pistols.taurus pt 145,keltec p11,keltec p3at, depending on my dress that day.I work as a security officer.other than the last 2 years in missouri,I spent the last 30 years living in houston.I'm really glad to be back in texas again, sure was happy to cross that old red river again.

Before the introduction, I'd like to thank everyone that posts here. I've been perusing the site for quite some time, and have seen a great deal of informative (and sometimes entertaining) posts. I stumbled upon it while searching for more detailed information than could be gleaned from the off-again/on-again PDO website.

Now for the really exciting stuff:
  • Age: almost thirty
    Gender: male
    Profession: Computer Engineering (ASIC/VLSI design)
Marital Status: Married - ~4 years, 1 child, one to be delivered soon
CHL: still waiting -- over 100 days
    TX Rep: Bill Keffer
Carry guns: undecided -- leaning towards 1911 comander style (likely Kimber), but may consider a DAO .45 or .40 implement.
Once again, I really enjoy this forum. Prompted to sign up after the idiots on a Dallas City Council committee thought it intelligent to ban toys, and saw a pertinent thread here. Just emailed Councilman Blaydes (I live in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas) with my aggravation over the issue, and hope to flush out his position. Find myself often wishing that I lived in the City of Lake Highlands, instead of the City of Dallas--or that I could afford to commute by helicopter. If things get much worse, I may have to give the Free State Project a serious examination.

I'll probably have several questions, but I'll post them in the relavent sections when I get around to it.
