I worked with some guys in College Station. Everytime I walked into the room one of my good friends would yell, "Coacher" and I just liked it. Obviously, I am a football coach so it fits.

That is what makes it so fun hookem57. You always see these user names, some of them quite unique and it makes you wonder how they came to be. Thanks to all who take the time to share their story. Makes for some pretty interesting and entertaining reading.hookem57 wrote:First time on the 'net that anybody asked that, to my knowledge.

I'm a big baseball fan. The history, traditions, it really is (was) Americas pastime. Baseball is almost as old as our country. The year in my user name should be fairly obvious, the country changed towards the end of that year.

My usual username on forums was taken and an old, old, rerun happen to be on the tube when I registered and guess what was on?
If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

Mine's pretty simple... My last name is Hoffmann, with 2 f's, and 2 n's. I find myself telling people that quite frequently...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I used to work at a NRTC company in the DFW area called Golden Sky Systems as a Satellite system installer for DirecTV. I used to do a lot of service Calls. most of which the problem was a bad Low Noise Block Feed Horn or LNB for short. When we suspected a service call was a "Bad LNB", that is what we would write in the description of the service call. I liked the way it sounded so I choose it as a Yahoo email address back in 2001 so the people I used to work with could remember my email address. I pretty much use 'badlnb' as my screen name on everything internet related.

I chose Bisley because my favorite gun is this old Bisley Colt that has been in the family for nearly a hundred years. I credit my love for big booming handguns to the fact that I got to shoot this one at about age 10. It's a .38-40, which is about the ballistic equivalent of a modern .40 cal, so it had enough oomph to bring a smile to the face of a young boy.

Favorite movie...The Outlaw Josey Wales...
Going to college in early 80's as a comp-sci major, our computer science dept still used hardcopy printouts (no screens/monitors).
Our program printouts (assignments) were placed in a common area, and it was not unusual for your 'listing' to get swiped if your name was on it - especially around finals time. Mine 'turned up missing' a time or two, so I changed the banner page title from my name to JOSEYWALES...nobody knew who it was, more importantly - nobody stole it. It's kinda stuck with me. Still think that's one of the absolutly coolest characters on film!

Roshi is Japanese for "old wise one". Picked it because it was kind of like making a joke on myself. I'm old but not always so wise.

I guess mine is pretty obvious also, I chose it bcuz a mosin nagant m44 was the first military pattern rifle I ever owned personally and I ended up loving the "tanks"and especially the round itself. VERY UNDERRATED CALIBER.
