Round Rock Academy had Monarch 223 both brass and metal case. The brass case was 9.99/20 metal case 6.79?? Also had NATO 9mm 21-22 box ?? No 30-30 which is what I was after. I would say both rifle shelf and pistol/rifle shelf were 1/3 full. Always with the stuff I dont shoot!! Lots of 7.62mm.

I went there this morning for some .223 (which they had plenty). I jokingly asked about 9mm and the guy said that they had implemented a 2 box per brand per caliber limit, but it got rescinded from the higher ups. As a result the Bullet Hole (local range) had just bought up all of the cheaper 9mm they had just gotten in. He did hint that tomorrow (Wed) would be a good day to be there when they open. But take that with a grain of salt. BTW, they still had the $20 per 50 boxes of NATO 9mm for anyone desperate.

You can -86 the .40 and .357 ammo at the Academy on Potranco & 1604 is out and no time frame on restock.

This just doesn't seem very good to me.

Academy in Selma has 9mm, 38, 40, and 45 ammo. I just pick up 2 boxes of Remington 45acp 250 count for 90.00 each.

A buddy called me today and told me the Academy price on the 9mm was 56 for a 250 count box. I did not make it by there today. Does that sound right from what you remember?

I just got the 45acp so I'm not sure on the other prices but that sounds about right.

Went to Academy on 1604 near 281 in San Antonio yesterday. Was told there was a line waiting to purchase ammo before the store opened. No target Blazer or Winchester in sight. It was all purchased within minutes. I saw one lady purchase all boxes of a particular 22 caliber ammo. Noticed they had a G17L and a G24 displayed for the first time - $6ish. Everything else had moved.

Went to Sportman's Warehouse across the highway from Academy on 1604 and I'm sad to say it is closing. There was a fire sale going on, but half of the store was already empty. The economy is taking its toll.

man I'm not having any luck around here. I had the day off so I took off looking for ammo early (or so I thought). Stopped by 3 Walmarts and an Academy. The walmarts were cleaned out of 9mm, 40 and 45's. I talked to one of the workers that said there were people waiting at 7 am to get ammo, and they took everything we put out. :mad5 She said the problem is walmart doesnt currently have a limit on the amount of boxes one can purchase at a time. Which to me was obvious. My last stop was at Academy and they did have a bunch of 9mm and 45, but no 40, which is what I'm looking for. :totap: I guess my next step is to bite the bullet for shipping and get my ammo online. :grumble
