Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
My first car was a silver Accord, and although it was nothing special, it was mine, I was 16, and that was enough. I gave it the nickname "silver bullet," but most people online had taken that as a handle, so Ag (silver) bullet 2k1(the year of the car,2001) became my login for most everything.

I have a 2003 Lightning that I like to drag race. I have been using the nick Rocks on the internet since the days when AOL charged by the hour for online access. When I bought my Lightning in 2002 I put the two nicks together.

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
While in the Marine Corps, I was selected from among my peers to be taught Arabic as our military rushed to fill the need for more Arabic Linguists in a post 9/11 military. While undergoing this intensive language training for over 18 months, my teachers assigned every student an Arabic name, mine happened to be Mustafa. The other students in my class all referred to me by that name, as it was less confusing for our teachers. Around this same time my rank was that of a Lance Corporal (once stripe up, cross rifles in the middle). I was so proud of my rank at the time that I changed my user name (which had been PFC Rusty (or with a little rearranging, as my siser-in-law was always quick to point out, to PF Crusty)) to LCplMustafa. The rank of Lance Corporal stuck with me a little longer than the rank of Private First Class had, and by the time I was promoted to Corporal, it was too large an endeavor to switch all my accounts according to my rank. Eventually, as a Sergeant, I received a little grief over it from my peers.
All of that makes me glad that I never got the tattoo of the Lance Corporal insignia on my arm like some of my friends did.

It is better to be judged by twelve than carried by six. But if you eat enough ice cream, you might have to get 12 guys to carry you.
Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I don't use the name but in my young days I was Lardo, because of a bullrider up the street who had a trampolene, we would get on his back for a wild ride, he was pure texan and actually called me Lado if you know the accent, but others made lardo stick. Stewart was his name and he would say ride it Lado and no one ever stayed on him. young times are fun.

As long as you continued to go up in ranks, it wouldn't be an issue. Until you had to pick between Master Sgt and 1st Sgt that is. Unless, like myself, you swore to never get a motard tattoo while you were active duty.LCplMustafa wrote:All of that makes me glad that I never got the tattoo of the Lance Corporal insignia on my arm like some of my friends did.
My username? First name and last initial. I have no imagination.
