I'm a ham radio operator (yes, another one). It's my callsign.

Both of my sons just became involved in Scouting and I am involved as an assistant den leader. The first two number are the year of my birth and the last two is for the year that we started our adventure in Scouting.

Operator here as well, KK5WC. Havent used it since 1997 when I was active in HAM but still keep it renewed and hope to get a 2m rig for Christmas.wo5m wrote:Mine originates from amateur radio. wo5m is the callsign that was issued by the FCC. I use it on just about every public forum. Also I’m not the only radio operator on here. I know of at least one other there may be more.
If you where to google my callsign you would find out more about me than googling my name.
As for my name, well:
Medic=Paramedic
FF=Firefighter (formerly, changing careers)

I really enjoy reading this thread. I have never posted on a forum before, although I have read various forums for many years. So, when I decided to join this one, I needed a username. Well, I am a Project Engineer with a service company that designs subsea tooling for the offshore oil industry. I did a quick look around and nobody was using Toolguy. Much better than some of the other names I have been called (the Oil Patch can be rough). My other choice would have been ROVToolguy. Not bad either, but more typing.
