Was at the Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine yesterday must have been one of those "right place at the right time" moments. I heard a guy announce that they had 20 something boxes in the back and asked if anyone needed any. Nobody said a word. The guy behind the counter said "Bring 10 of them up so that we can sell them with new guns" I finally told them I would take one. I figured they were limiting purchases like everyone else, then when I got to the counter to pay for it the guy said You are only getting one?

If I had known that I could have taken it all and distributed it here.

I was en route to a job this past Friday that took me by Bass Pro Mesquite. I stopped in for a quick look-see, and was able to nab the very last 525 box of 22lr. They were keeping them behind the gun counter and only distributing one per patron...but their prices have not escelated, so :tiphat: to them.

nevermind.. it's out of stock. I guess my order was too deep in the process to cancel but mine went backordered.

I stopped by gun zone in mesquite this afternoon to look at .22 rifles. They had .22lr in stock for 24.99 a box of 50. I have always been loyal to the lgs and passed over Bass Pro and Academy, due to their prices being slightly higher. After the way that the lgs are acting during this craziness, I may just change my position. :bigmouth

I cannot help find any, but I did contribute 3 bricks to my local 'mom and pop' gun store (who have handled many transfers for me) with the suggestion that they meter it out to their steady customers or to folks desperate to go out and plink a bit. I also gave a couple of bricks to my buddy's neighbor who has a young son and daughter, both eager to shoot. I hope a few others with a healthy ammo supply might do the same for their small, local shops or eager young learners who don't have enough pull to get ammo like the big buyers.
Happy .22'ing! :fire

A bunch of the links no longer will give the store stock info. I think they cut it off. I've found that the Walmart by me get shipments two specific days a week, and stocks them overnight. I just hit it up early the next morning (6:30 and there are already other people there, but they are 24 hour), and have been able to finally get some .22 and 9mm.
