I understand. Maybe you should sell all of your Glocks and start again with the correct series... :evil2:

LOL. I just can't step away from "perfection". :cheers2:

Very nice! Until now, single stack small-framed polymer .45s have been the realm of Glock and Kahr, but this new XD is even skinnier than either of those two guns. Slide width on the CW45 is 1.01" and 1.10" on the Glock 36. To put that into perspective, at .90" this XD 45 has the same slide width as my diminutive PM9. That's pretty impressive.

The only deal breaker for me is the 29 ounce weight... seems a bit heavy for a polymer frame single stack. Kahr PM45 weighs in at just over 17 ounces, and the CW45 is almost 10 ounces lighter with a longer barrel. As much as I like Springfield I don't see myself changing anytime soon for this.

Only 5 + 1... May as well carry a wheel gun.
Perhaps if the gun could accept a longer magazine from the full sized XD.... Otherwise it might make a good BUG.

Like the HK P2000SK can use the longer P2000 magazines using an X-grip. I can carry the SK with 9+1 rounds (of .40 or .357 SIG) in the short-mag configuration and my backup mags can be 12 rounds each with an x-grip.

Get the G36...it weighs less and gets you one more round. Granted, it is 1.13" and 3.78" barrel length, but it is...well, perfect.

(I do have an XD45 and love it. It's my sidearm hunting...and to be honest, I think I may have to get this new XD. Don't judge me! )

I'm really questioning the accuracy of that 27 oz unloaded weight. A midsize Glock (19/23/32) weighs 23 oz unloaded and is a considerably larger weapon.

Me, too. Hope they take the PPS route and offer 5/6/7 round mags as well.

Boy, this new XDS looks great.

But I'd be more comfortable with a 10 + 1.

Oh, wait - SA already has a 10 + 1 in .45.

Now, if I could just find that spring water bottle that holds my $600 worth of pennies.
It's got to be around here somewhere!!! :-)

I too was semi-excited about this - until I saw the 29 ounce weight (which I also think may be an error). Heck, my STI Escort with aluminum alloy frame is listed at 22.8 ounces.

Edited to add: Their current 4" .45 with 10 round mag weighs 29 ounces. http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php?version=117" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; And newer M model at 27 ounces: http://www.the-m-factor.com/html/specs_11.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Gotta be a typo! Or maybe I am just rationizing for another one I can not feel bad to ride hard and put up wet. :)

Lucky you - at the SHOT show? Did you get a chance to verify the weight? How was the recoil?
