Generally, Charles gets the range to provide access free of charge. I'd guess that this one will be a free event as well.

There is a planning committee working on it, but I don't think an agenda is available just yet.

While there was no fee in 2006, there was a free will offering for a good cause.

Also, you need to bring around 1,000 rounds of ammo.

There are three that are only about 3 miles away. I'll get the contact information and I will ask them about reduced rates. There are a bunch of hotels on Bay Area Blvd and NASA Parkway, about 8 to 10 miles from the range.

besides bringing lots of ammo and a few firearms , is there any place
close to eat or do we pack a lunch or bring a dish of food for a pot luck
lunch?

Last year we had a barbeque cook-off team there and we'll probably do so again this year.

In 2006 they had barbeque for sale/contribution. There's nowhere really close to eat, and you won't want to leave.

I either didn't read or don't remember. About how many attended and
participated in shooting last year. Would like to try the Texas Star this
year.

For folks that weren't there last year, there is a special forum section where we discussed what happened in 2006. You'll really want to check out the video threadKinnyLee did.

We did not get a real accurate count because there were people coming and going during the day, but the very minimum we had was 65 -- up from about 18 the year before.

Thanx,

Speaking of videos, when September rolls around and we all get together for shootin', socializin', barbeque, and more shootin', remember what Longtooth always says: "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast."

Don't let this happen to you.
