oh yeah. BTW, you have to be buzzed in, and there is a sign at the entrance that says something to the effect of 'LEO Only'. this apparently is not a firm policy. if you don't get buzzed in when you walk to the door, just hit the doorbell button. no big deal.

What do you mean by "sometimes they'll deal with a CHL holder, sometimes they won't"?
Just what I said - I've heard that sometimes they'll sell a firearm to someone who has a CHL, and sometimes they won't, citing "we sell to police only." Perhaps the mood of the saleman? (Caveat: this is anecdotal, I haven't personally tried to purchase a firearm there . . . but I've heard this from a couple of people.)

I am not familuar with this one. How long have they been there? That is just right down the road from the house. I guess I am going to have to go over there tomorrow and check them out.

Advanced Armorment - The Cutting Edge in Round Rock is a tiny shop . . . a friend of mine says he's done "a lot" of Internet transfers for him at a reasonable price.

From what I understand, they get special pricing from their firearms suppliers, because they are a cop shop. The prices are at a significant discount, and AFAIK they won't sell guns to non-LEO folks. I'm not sure if ammo is sold only to LEOs, as I never looked into it that far. I seem to remember that their ammo was significantly cheaper than most places, so you might not be able to buy it there. As far as the rest of the merchandise, it seems to be normally priced. I've purchased gear there (5.11 holster shirt, and some other clothing) and they had no problem selling that to me. They do ask for a lot of information at the counter, and when asked who I worked for, I responded "I am not an LEO", and they seemed to be fine with that.

It's a cool place, with TONS of gear and lots of room. Remember that it's going to be LEO-centric, so you're going to mostly see duty gear, but there are still a good number of items useful for us CHLers. They were friendly and helpful in finding what I wanted. It's so large that you might want to check out their inventory for what you want so that you don't spend a lot of time searching when you get there. If you know what you want, they seem more than happy to get it for you or show you where it is.

Oops, I called it the wrong name, It is "Advanced Armorments-The Cutting Edge". Thanks Hank! I have bought a few guns from there and had many more shipped to him. He is a good guy to work with.

Also, I bought a gun from GT off of Gun Broker and picked it up locally without any hassle.
