They do give ballistics for what they make on thier website, but I have no idea of the accuracy of their claims:

PRVI is good ammunition. They also make Wolf Gold.

But this only applies to Academy's brass cased ammo.

The previous poster was correct that the steel cased Monarch is made in Russia.

Academies all over the state have been getting the .380 in.

Usually they get them in as 100 boxes of 50 rounds. They go quick, but the one up here in BCS has gotten 100 box orders twice in two weeks time.

Hopefully the .380 crunch is over.

I broke down and bought a thousand rounds a few weeks ago. It would be typical for the way my luck works. Now the price will go down and I can think about how I over paid every time I shoot .380 rounds. :banghead: :smilelol5:

Is everyones walmart still limiting to six boxes? All of them around me in San Antonio are still doing it , I wish they would relax a bit on that rule

Yes. I had a friend with me, so they gave us 10. I guess I could have gotten 12, but 500 rounds was all I wanted.

Speaking to the Sporting Goods manager (who is a friend) at my local Wal-Mart in San Antonio, he informed me that the local stores cannot order any ammo any more. Corporate decides what to send, when to send, and to whom concerning ammo. Locals have no say regardless of market conditions or demands. He allowed me to read some of the correspondence.

Thats interesting since the stores around here vary greatly in display space, selection, and inventory,

I wonder what made corporate change strategy for that one item category

I was in W Mart, I-10/DeZavalia yesterday. Was told the same thing. They do not order, it just shows up on the truck. They had not seen .380 for months. Did have .9mm and 4 boxes of .45acp. Bought all the .45. I called around before going into town, (I'm in Bandera) Boerne had NO .380, 9mm, or 45ACP. Nagel's had all the .380 you wanted @ 29.95/50. I let them keep it. Academy @ 410/Military had 3 boxes of .380 @ 14.95 (Monarch) but I did not want to drive to that side of town. Bass Pro had no .380 or 9mm.

I did get my 300 rnd's (.380) from Cabela's this week that I ordered 12/15. Now need to buy a 9mm to go with the 500 rnd's of 9mm I bought last week.

I was informed by my friend at Wal-Mart that the microstamping issue pending in California (which Corporate thinks may have wider implications) is a variable in corporate's decision process about having lots of ammo on-hand. I don't know how accurate this is.
