Glock 42 Question

So I am thinking about purchasing a Glock 42 for my wife. We went to the range today to rent one to try out. It was not my favorite gun range, but it had one to rent.

The guy behind the counter said that in his experience, the 42 only liked the 100gr ammo. He said that when people shoot 95gr ammo, they have a lot of mis-feeds and failures to eject.

I do not trust the guy, he gave me gave me a bad vibe. So I wanted to check with y’all about your experiences. Is the guy full of it? Or is there credence to his claim?

I haven't had an issue with 95gr.

My friend has one and has had all kinds of ammo issues. He went through 4 different defense loads before finding one that it fed correctly.

I have put 4 or 5 different brands of ammo from A-Z and I have had zero problems out of mine.

No problems with mine at all. It's eating Hornady Critical Defense fine.

biggest issue i've had is a lot of failure to lock the slide back on the last round.
does it randomly on both magazines regardless of the ammo type.

And the sights on mine seem to be off, but other than that it's had no ftf or fte issues at all.

I personally have a S&W .380 bodyguard with the laser and it shoots everything and the only complaint is a heavy trigger but has never failed and does have double strike capability. I was disappointed at Glock not being, well- a Glock- perfect but I am sure they will make it such. I hate it when they say a gun prefers certain ammo. Wasn't very long ago when you couldn't even find ammo on the shelf let alone be picky. Remington R51 pistol called for exclusive use of their ammo and where is the R51 now?

I have three pistols in .380, a Ruger LCP, Glock 42, and Sig P238. The only issue I had with the Glock was ammo related, but that was because of bad primers. It ate everything I fed it.

I have not had any problems with the Glock 42, and have fed it both factory ammo and reloads.

The only issue I have is that it shoots a little low. But, consistently low, so at least I know where to aim.

There's a lot of gun range experts. I met one years ago in Fort Worth while shooting my Cetme. He told me to be very careful shooting it because with certain ammo the gas tube would rupture. In case you don't know, a Cetme is not gas operated.

My 380 ACP handguns are; 1 Colt 2 S&W Sigma 3 Ruger LCP, 4 Glock 42.

The Glock 42 is the best 380 ACP handgun I have. I've never had a malfunction with the Glock 42.
