This event was held this past weekend at Best of the West Shooting Sports in Liberty, TX. I just learned about it, so I was unable to go. I was wondering if anyone else went or has been in the past. I would like to know if it was worthwhile. Sounds pretty interesting.

It was a solid concept - visit with the vendors and try the product. That's got an appeal that reaches beyond the enthusiast ranks. The facility had its act together and ticked all the organizational boxes. I give them high marks on that end.
The one failing goes to the heart of your post, as it appears not to have been promoted very heavily or at least effectively.
If it's held next year, I'd say put it on the 'to do' list.
