Your AR Pistols
I finally finished my AR Pistol with a friend doing most of the work. I did not know if any of you had one or not. My problem was every time I looked at one I would tweak mine, but I have finally finished.
I know there are a lot of laws govern pistols. I travel back and forth to East Texas and this is my primary reason for wanting an AR Pistol. I travel some to Oklahoma, but just found out the State Laws are different. Just one example is Oklahoma has a law that if it is going to being carried opened or concealed it has to be less than sixteen inches long. That leave mine out. I believe Louisiana has something similar. I originally wanted this to keep in the truck when traveling, but seeing that States have different laws it may be difficult.
Post pictures of your AR Pistols. I need more ideals.

Re: Your AR Pistols
Please post up build details. Ive been thinking of building one myself.
Re: Your AR Pistols
That is first class. I wasn't for sure if I wanted my Noveske KX 5 that close to the rail or not. It sure looks great!
I was able to find a .223 Wylde in a 10.5 barrel for mine. One of our Forum members TAM's son was generous to help me out.
Re: Your AR Pistols
Edit: I first started with an almost complete pistol that I bought from a guy who knew nothing and I almost lost my hand when I fired it the first time. So now the rest of the story. . .cheezit wrote:Please post up build details. Ive been thinking of building one myself.
I started with a brand new Spikes Tactical lower that was on sale. I was looking around and trying to get ideals. I first found a 11.5 barrel. I bought a UTG Free Float rail, but I did not buy one long enough for my liking. So back to the starting board.
I found a 10.5 stainless steel Wylde barrel. I first bought a free float rail that was ok, but I did not like the way it looked with the Noveske KX5. So I went with a Midwest Free Float rail from http://vtsupply.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I also bought the Command Arms AR15 Customizable Pistol Grip from them. They are super when it comes to customer service. Arron is first class. I think that is about it. I did put some old BUIS I had along with Primary Arms Red Dot.

I think I'd like to hear the rest of this story... What happened?carlson1 wrote:Edit: I first started with an almost complete pistol that I bought from a guy who knew nothing and I almost lost my hand when I fired it the first time. So now the rest of the story. . .
Re: Your AR Pistols
The ruling on the SIG Brace is what made me start considering an AR pistol as a serious tool instead of a range fun gun. The short barrel makes it a 100m gun but for urban environments that's probably sufficient.aaangel wrote:i will be getting the sig brace gen2 in FDE once it becomes more available and a CAA grip also in FDE. Re: Your AR Pistols
I bought a complete upper. I attached to a new Spikes Tactical. The guy has stripped the barrel nut and tried to glue it. I bought it at night and was it paying attention. The first day at the range around 10 rounds it all blew off with me holding the lower.dcphoto wrote:I think I'd like to hear the rest of this story... I am putting the final touches on mine. I still need a torque wrench and moly grease

Re: Your AR Pistols
I have a 7.5" AR-15 5.56 pistol, but I'm going to turn it into a rifle. I'm such a wimp when it comes to that blinding & deafening muzzle blast.
Going to hold out on another pistol until I can afford to build a 300BLK, with future plans of suppressing it.

Keep calm and carry.

No I did not. It taught me a big lesson about just dealing with Forum members. I have never had an incident like this one before.dcphoto wrote:

I will now do all of my shopping on the TexasCHLforum.
Re: Your AR Pistols
I think building a pistol with that brace has become a feasible option, but I think I want a .300 BLK upper (and probably, a .223 upper as well), just for the heavier bullets. That round is made for SBR-type arms.
Re: Your AR Pistols
Damn. When I was Torquing down my barrel nut I was unable to get the gas tube to index while keeping within 30 -60 ft pounds. I ended up very lightly sanding down the front of the receiver with 2000 grit before it would index properly.carlson1 wrote:I bought a complete upper. I attached to a new Spikes Tactical.
