Anyone going to Big Town gun show tomorrow?

#1

Post by jmra »

Haven't been to a show in 18 months but have a few things I want to find before the panic buying hits if anything happens on 9/11.
Looking for a couple ar lowers and maybe a single stack subcompact.

Anyone else going?

I'm thinking about it. Would like to get out of the house/office for a bit.
Here's to wishing for cooler weather!
Equality, rightly understood as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences; wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism. Barry Goldwater

I hope to be inside before it gets hot.

I stopped going to gun shows when they started posting signs they don't want customers with clean records.

I don't bother anymore. Entry fees and sometimes parking fees make it not worth while Imo. It is a nice place to go though if you want to look for and compare different firearms in person but I haven't seen a deal at a show since 08. There selling used guns for more then new at some of these companies stands.

Just got home. Had a great time with my son. A friend went with us looking for an AR. He picked up a DPMS for $500.00. Fun day.
I did resist the urge to purchase a CM9 for $338.00.

The wife and I will be going Sunday. She just passed her CHL class, we bought her a M&P 9mm Shield. She loves it and is ready to accessorize..

Looked at a few single stack 9's today. Will probably stick with my G19 and G26 at least until after the first of the year to see if Glock comes out with a thinner 9.
I did like the feel of the shield though.

She took some shooting classes, shot the G26 and XD9. She liked the way they shot but I suggested something slimmer to purchase. We went back to the range and rented the Shield, the LC9, XD9 Sub Compact (Couldn't find a XDS9) and the G26. She shot the Shield first. She hated the LC9 trigger and the others seems bulky in comparison. She was sold. I'm not a big 9mm fan but I'm considering buying one for myself. I'm torn between that and the XDS in either 9mm or 45 ACP. Either way I will be going slim. :thumbs2:
