9mm HP ammo in Dallas

#1

Post by Rodrigueztin07 »

Where is it you folks in Dallas are finding the good hollow point ammo? Locally? Online?

Just got my carry gun, don't have the chl yet. (Playing the waiting game) want to run some down it to make sure it feeds fine. Only kind I've found are critical defense, critical duty, and golden sabre. Already ran a box of CD through, but I really want to carry Federal HST in either 124 or 147 gr I just can't find any. I'll even do Gold Dots too. Just no luck finding any. Every academy and walmart I've gone are out. (They have plenty in .40 and .45 though.)

Anyone want to help a guy out?? ;-)

Try ammunition to go online sales. They usually have 50 round boxes of HST.

:iagree: Good prices, the more you buy the cheaper with shipping.

Keep an eye out at Cabelas and Bass Pro.
Buy online and free ship to store.

I buy Federal Classic Hi-Shok Jacketed Hollow Point (I shoot 115Gr) on LuckyGunner.com on a fairly regular basis...

Not sure about the specific rounds and weight you are looking for.

I also use:

ammunitiontogo.com
freedommunitions.com

...you may want to check them as well.

I have almost stopped making trips to stores to buy ammo. I'll buy if I happen to be in a store and they have what I want but I've quit making special trips.

My two cents.

Try SG Ammo out of Stillwater Oklahoma. I was on their site this morning and they had 50 round boxes of both HST and Gold Dot. At fair pricing.

Nothing wrong with Golden Sabre HP's for SD ammo.

Good read here (post 1) from a ballistics expert: http://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php? ... -by-DocGKR" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I prefer HST also. Last box I bought was from a friend who had some stashed away.
Looks like ATG has 124gr in stock but not 147: http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/index.php ... lter_id=36" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

ETA: SGAmmo has 124gr for a better price:

I've seen that Academy has a varying stock of 9mm self-defense ammo on hand in most stores. Its usually a bit (not too much) more expensive than some places, but in line with the store.

you can check out Cheaper than Dirt website.... When i order through them I've been getting next day delivery, usually have to order by noon but if the ammo is in the Ft Worth warehouse they ship it out that night..

There is nothing I can say about CTD that would pass the ten year old daughter rule!

The last time I was up in the Dallas area I found some Remington 9mm 115grn HP at Cabela's in Allen. I think it was $25 a box of 50.

Yeah... At least for the 9mm JHP ammo I use, Cabela's often is, or nearly is, the cheapest, plus their website offers free shipping to any of their retail locations. And who doesn't like making a quick trip up to Cabela's?

Communists, that's who.
