Benchmade 3150 Lerch Impel Gentleman's Automatic Knife (1.98" Satin Plain). Nice little pocket knife. When I was a little kid auto knives were legal. Now in Texas they are again. Just neat.

The Texas constitution has certain provisions where local governments can not "overrule" certain state laws, but apparently knife regulations are not included. Maybe this oversight will be remedied soon. :txflag:

That would be nice.

I've been wanting a Microtech OTF for quite some time, I just haven't been able to pull the trigger.

It's funny now that I can carry one I really don't want to.

I've always had this image of the blade popping out while it was in my pocket.

I have carried a few "assisted" opening knifes for the last several years. THEY CAN OPEN IN YOUR POCKET

Most have some type of thumb lock safety which for the most part I leave OFF... But the NRA knife I had has a fairly weak retention spring and a big assisting lever which when banged on thing like seat belts and arm rests on chairs would let the knife partially open. Cut a hole in some good cargo shorts a few times and poked a hole in my hand once. From then on it went into my truck door panel as a backup.

Carry a Smtih and Wesson MP 3bsd now....$30 or so....assisted opening not a push button but it is very fast, ergonomic.... The clip holds the knife with the hing of the blade down so your finger is right on the assist leaver as you pull it out.... I can also carry in MOST states without worry.

protech gets really good reviews based on my research, but they run about the same price as benchmade.
I recently picked up a benchmade assisted open osborne and I have to say it operates so well I don't think I need an auto opener anymore
