Re: Introduce yourself
Male, 42 w/ male pattern baldness.
Married with 1 kid
work in software and part time dj
First pistol was a 9mm HK USP Compact bought back in 1999.
First rifle was a 6mm remington from back in the 80's and haven't shot that since 1990.
Got the fever to buy an AR 15 a little over 2 years ago and love to shoot that all the time.
Took a CHL class in 2006 but never turned it in. Retook the class and got my plastic this past June.
My EDC is a Springfield XDs .45 with either the MTAC or DeSantis Superfly. I sometimes carry a Sig P220 Scorpion, but mainly the XDs.
New to hunting, but have been an avid shooter for a while.
Did not impress the wife with my latest purchase of a cammo 5gallon bucket/swivel seat... but I'm ready for some doves!

Re: Introduce yourself
I'm male and 46 years old. Born and raised in rural south Louisiana, I learned to shoot early and often. I live in the Dallas area and work downtown. I'm an architect by trade and it's taken me all over the country.
I've lived in Dallas twice, originally from 89-05, then moved back in 10 and I've gotten my Texas CHL both times. I've also had a Louisiana CHL as well as a North Carolina CHL at one point when I lived there. Been packing awhile now...
I have two carry pieces depending on what, when and where. Kimber Ultra Carry, normally in an Ozarks Holster Co IWB, or a Smith & Wesson 3913TSW usually in a Remora Holster.
I'm looking forward to becoming a regular in the discussions on the board.

Re: Introduce yourself
Greetings,
"So I jump ship in Hong Kong and I make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice."
Ok, so now that is out of the way. I am an Army vet who upon leaving the service joined the Law Enforcement Academy and am now going to school full time to follow in my grandfather's - and some uncle's and cousin's - footsteps to become a high school history teacher and coach (baseball, football, basketball, and/or volleyball). I have a ton of hobbies that include photography, playing sports (mostly softball), hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, taking my wife two-stepping, spending time with the kids, and of course shooting.
I am happy, happy, happy to be hear and look forward to "meeting" you all.
Here are some pics of my babies (minus the kiddos as I do not want to post their pics online).

Re: Introduce yourself
I have been lurking here for a while now and thought it was high time to introduce myself. Male, 44, married 19 years to a wonderful woman who puts up with me. Two smart sons. Lifetime NRA member since 1997. Knowing my background, you would not think I enjoyed shooting. I grew up in a deep blue state. Undergraduate business degree and a law degree (don't hold that against me, I am really a nice guy). I now work for a very well known large company as a compliance attorney, doing investigations and training. Growing up in the northeast, I loved shooting - I learned to shoot .22's at summer camp and had a BB gun that I shot every day in the yard. I moved to Texas from Sandy Hook, CT in 2010 - and that school shooter psycho lived about a mile from my house. When that awful incident happened, it woke me up from my long slumber on the importance of owning and using guns - I owned a Sig P220 since 1996 but had not shot it in 10 years. I had a CHl when I lived in another state but had let it lapse long ago. Since December, I have purchased two more pistols and three rifles as well as got into reloading. My EDC is a Sig p290 in a a problem arises IWB holster. I have learned a lot from this site and I while I will probably not chime in a lot, I love reading this forum almost every day. It's a great group here!

22 Male
Houston/Katy area (if y'all ever want to go to the range or the bar of course!)
I'm a Marine reservist and a certified professional firefighter but I am currently working towards my bachelors in Fire Protection Engineering so I will be transferring to Oklahoma State at some point. I work at a hotel in Houston at night so I can attend school in the day. I want to minor in History or Political Science as I am in love with both. You will find me at Conservative events frequently but I will keep my politics to myself as always to be respectful.
I'm currently in the waiting period for my CHL, but I will be carrying my XD .40SC in my Crossbreed Deluxe whenever I get my license. I look forward to learning a lot from you all!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hey everyone I'm Ryan.
24 year old male
Graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2012 with a degree in Forest Recreation Management (fancy name for "I like to work in parks") and I'm currently searching for a job in my field or just something to do that's fun. Currently waiting for my license paperwork to arrive at TXDPS and I just got into shooting pistols a little over a year ago, but have been shooting rifles and archery since I was 5.
I just moved back to the Kemah/Texas City area after living in Mineral Wells, TX for a year and I'm looking to get into some competitive shooting with both pistols and rifles. I currently have a Taurus PT809 and Taurus .38 special revolver for pistols and a 1941 M1 Carbine and Remington 30-06 deer rifle (that I never shoot) for rifles. I had planned on carrying the 809 when I get my license, but after looking at it with different clothes I've decided it's pretty much a winter gun. Plan on getting a PT111 G2 to carry instead.
