We're sorry, (Product: 1,000 rounds Wolf(R) .223 Rem(R) 62 Grain FMJ Ammo (WX2-228655)) is not currently in stock. It's expected in our warehouse on October 14, 2013 and will be shipped to you within 24 hours after its arrival. You will not be billed until the item is shipped. If you do not want to wait for this item, please remove it from your Shopping Cart.

Just enough time for you to take out a home equity loan to pay for it.

Some friends of mine run a small shop locally. They are getting somewhere between 1 and 3 million rounds of 62 grain 5.56 next month. I'll be posting details as soon as the stuff is off the boat.

At least they gave you a warning that it's back ordered, and gave you the ETA.

I ordered 500 rounds of 9mm from Cabelas. The site said it was in stock when I ordered.
I checked back a week later to see if it had been shipped yet, as I had expected it by then.
The order said "In Process". I got on their live chat and was told I should receive it by the end of the month.
I checked on it today, and in the live chat was told they should get it in by 4/25.

Actually they did tell me the end of March. It was my wording that was too vague.

Everything I've back ordered from them have come in months before expected delivery date. My 100 Lancer mags made it in last week and I think expected delivery was 6/13. Now if my 20 cases of .223 will come in I'll be set for a yr or two

Sportsmanguide is pretty good about ETA's on other items and usually under promise and over deliver. I also like their 4 pay plan. If you plan on getting more than one case over a few months you can buy all four in the first month and pay the next three months while getting your product asap.
