Midway just delivered 5k small pistol and 5k large rifle primers. Also ordered some powder. Supplies are starting to drift back. Local Academy on Monday had MUCH more ammo than I have seen in weeks although no 9mm, 40 or 45. Also saw some guns for the first time in a long time. The market will eventually return to some state of normalcy. What bothers me is the price gouging at some stores. Midway never price gouges as far as I can tell. But there sure are some taking advantage. But this is capitalism and it does work. I may have my first reload done in 4 months or so if I am lucky.

Ok I'll Bite on this. Midway today does not even take backorders - ZIP. When did you order the primers?

I had the primers in my wishlist. I check it on a regular basis and when I found they had it I ordered. They will also email an alert when a product is in but I find that by the time the email comes in they are out of stock. So, you just have to check the site frequently. They also tell you when they "expect" merchandise to become available.
It's tough now but I think it's getting better. Have you tried http://www.gunbot.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ? I placed the order about 2 weeks ago and have 5k cci small pistol and 5k cci large rifle. Looking for large pistol and small rifle. Tulamo should be in soon (I hope). Placed a powder order and who knows when that will be in.

Thanks - i appreciate you telling me your process. Yea, i just started using gunbot about 2 weeks ago. No luck so far. I will try and scope the most likely companies to get'em. I see Midway saying that tulammo primers are coming soon. Ah, the Russians.

My story is i hunted years ago, have a few deer rifles and Remington 1100, and single six plinking revolver. And just last april a Glock for self defense - along with CHL. I fell in love with the handgun, and shot so much ammo i started thinking about re-loading. Then newtown and the socialist hit. I have about 300 rounds in the house and that's it. Starting think about getting back into a gun club also. But alas, no ammo

the weekend before newton, my local walmart had more ammo than i had ever seen them have. i bought a box of 100 federal 9mm. the night i heard the news, i went back for 4 more boxes. then the next morning i went back for 4 or 5 more. it was a fortunate confluence of having enough to cover some extra boxes along with them being available. i haven't tried sourcing more since the shelves went bare, aside from a quick walk-by when i'm in a walmart.
