While leaving Austin for home yesterday, I stopped at Academy in RR and got a 100 round box of Winchester .40 FMJ. I then stopped at AGL and they actually had .223 Hornady soft points 50 round boxes. Both were under $40 each. Both places had several boxes.
To top it off, that cop buddy of mine gave me 50 more rounds of Federal .223 because he sold his personal AR a while back. The ammo shelf in the safe isn't looking so bleak now

Re: Score!
It's a sad day when you feel like you won the lottery because you found bullets!
I got 3 boxes of 9 yesterday and I only shot a 100 at the range. +50 net

Re: Score!
Was at Academy yesterday in Corpus Christi. They had .40 S&W, .45, 9mm and .223 REM. I had to go to the customer service counter and was limited to one box of any of the different rounds, with a three box limit.
Not happy with that, but it looks like ammo is starting to come back in stock. Hopefully the big run on ammo is slowing down enough that prices will come back to normal and can replenish my stock.
