Karr P9 (9mm)
I recently purchased a car P9 (9mm). I tried cor-bon ammo and had very bad feed issues. The ammo would get stuck sideways going up the slide of the barrel. I took it back to were I bought the gun from, and they told me that Karr guns need at least 300 to 500 rounds through them before they become reliable. Has anyone had this problem, and if so what is the best self defense ammo for this gun?
Think before you react!!!!
Hey Bret,
Had the same thing happen with mine. Just get some good plinking round nose rounds and run a few hundred through it. Clean it, and try the cor-bon again.
I haven't tried the cor-bon in mine, I use federal hydroshock. Might be your gun just dont like cor-bon's.
After the breakin period mine has run 100%.

Looks like Kahr is still producing polymer pistols with problems. I had a P9 a couple of years ago which gave me so much trouble - multiple problems - Kahr eventually replaced it. (Funny how pistols tested by gun rags NEVER have problems, isn't it? I guess those advertising dollars improve performance!)
Anyway, I'm just putting in my 2 cents to let you know if you keep having problems that Kahr did try to make good under warranty - they paid for shipping to & from the factory a couple of times, and ultimately replaced the pistol. (I traded the replacement - unfired - for a Glock 26. Not as neat a package, but the Glock WORKS!)
Keep track of how your pistol works - rounds fired, malfunctions, etc. - and contact Kahr if the problems persist.
BTW, as far as Cor-Bon is concerned . . . they've had QC issues crop up from time to time in the past, so I'd try some other brands of ammo. Remington 115+P JHP in particular has a reputation for reliable feeding.
