His eyes got as big as saucers.....

#1

Post by LR95S97 »

My daughter has a new boyfriend (let’s call him Johnny) as of several weeks ago. This is her first 'real' boyfriend. Johnny is over at the house two-three times per week for dinner, and been over to watch several college football games on the weekends.

During the course of conversation, he knows I own several pistols.

Johnny comes over yesterday evening to help my daughter with a physics project. She has to build a contraption that will propel a golf ball at a certain speed over a certain distance (bla bla bla bla). So the three of us head out the garage to brain storm the project and he notices my used practice targets from the range. I hang them inside on the garage door.

He saw all the 'shot up' targets, looked at my daughter, then managed a glancing look my way. Without missing a beat, I told him "I maimed the last boyfriend, so I go the range weekly so I will get a kill on the next one"

His eyes where as big as saucers. :eek6

Classic moment I will never forget.......

This definitely made me laugh out loud!!

My daughter is several years away from dating but on the first night that a boy comes to pick her up for a date my sons and I will be out front cleaning every gun I own. I might have to display a few of my range targets, I like that idea. At any rate, I'll be sure to mention that her curfew is at 10pm and "I expect her home by 9:30pm!"

I'm going to have to order this shirt as well:

I missed so many dates because Mid Age Russ and my dad would sit, reload, clean guns and chat. I would sit in the living room and watch TV... We have been married over 24 years... Be careful who you clean guns in front of.

My daughters shot on a family rifle league with my wife and I.

Boys would ask for dates, and the girls would tell them that Saturday would be fine, but it would have to wait until after the league they were on, but if they wanted to come watch, and maybe sub, they were welcome.

Most of the time the girls would forget to mention what sort of league it was, and the boys just assumed it was bowling.

We got to see some really surprised faces.

And then there was the kid who went and bought a full bowling setup, Ball, Shoes, everything down to the towel. I felt guilty about him.

And then there was the night that the guy my younger daughter had pined for since grade school asked her out, and came with us to the league, and proceeded to outshoot almost everyone there. He was the captain of his (Catholic Military) high school rifle team.

They are still married.

I have a while till my daughters start to date, but I plan on having every gun owner I know over for a "cleaning party" when he picks her up. Hopefully even one of our LEO friends will show up in uniform.

My daughter's in college now. With her potential suiters, I would greet them very nicely as the entered the house. As they were on the way out the door, I would say "oh, I forgot. Here!" and toss a blank 9mm round to the young man. After examining what he just caught and looking up with a confused glare :???: , I would then say, "You step out of line with my baby girl and the next one comes a whole lot faster!" :fire :coolgleamA:

Worked like a charm. :smilelol5:

Wasn't me that had the problem. Out of 5 kids, 4 were girls with the only boy right in the middle. He learned quick to fight for what he wanted but to stand up for the girls when they needed, which was not very often. Lots of "cat fights" around our house through the years.

When my youngest had her first date pick her up, I was out of town. My son met him at the door with his 22 strapped to his side. He said he was just doing what I would and have done. Now that he is grown and married, he has 2 girls. Guess what he will be doing in a few years.
