If a large animal was charging at me then YES! http://www.accuratereloading.com/577tyr.html There is an article on the round. If you think the .577 T-Rex is bad though, you should try the .700 Nitro!

That is one funny video and I laugh every time I see it. There is also another good one with a guy shooting a scoped pistol. This dude appears to weigh around 300#-350# and starts to shoot the gun one handed but changes his mind and goes to two. When he drops the hammer, the gun goes flying out of his hands, appears to possibly hit the top of his head as it goes past, and lands somewhere behind him off camera. His buddies who had been encouraging him are dying from laughter. I don't remember where it's at or I would post a link.

Edit: I'm no good at the cut/paste thing or however you do it but it's on youtube. You can find it by searching for 50 caliber handgun accident.

I know it wasn't the intention, but it would be a great vid on how to shoulder a weapon, and the many ways Not to do it.
Ø resist

Take away the second first, and the first is gone in a second.

That video was impressive. I was surprised by the second to the last guy. Of course, the last shooter was the smoothest of the bunch.

So much for pointing the gun in a safe direction.

OK guys.....that video make me laugh until tears started rolling! I enjoyed it so much I had to go get a Diet Coke and play it again

This reminds me of a story that a dear friend recently shared with me....Thank God it is a bolt action rifle and not semi auto with a hair trigger. There should be some kind of ordinance about putting a bayonet on one of those things with other people in the room!
Absolutely hilarious!

I witnessed my Father getting kicked like this with a black powder rifle..I do not remember the caliber, but the powder had a delayed burn and went off when the rifle was about three inches away from his arm. He looked like someone beat him with a baseball bat for the next two weeks. It was the last time I ever saw him shoot black powder!

Flame if you want, but i dont get it. is it a joke or something? why would anyone want to own/use a rifle like that in the real world? If it is for big game then why didnt thay make it more manageable? the Barrett .50 BMGs dont even kick like that...i mean the video is funny but i just dont get it, i think its ridiculous. its like handing a Desert Eagle .50 to a 4 year old and saying hold on tight.

why would anyone want to own a 45ACP?

Different strokes for different folks. I've never seen anyone try to fire a BMG freestanding, I don't think this gun is really intended to be fired this way either. Obviously it can be fired fired and controlled from the shoulder as the last guy demonstrated. I would think that just that fact would be a source of pride to some people. Afterall anyone can handle a .223 black gun.
