Carry guns/equipment: I have a Springfield XD 9mm. Now I to figure out how to conceal it.

I applied online a few weeks ago and did my laser fingerprints soon after. I took my class yesterday and I'm mailing everrything tomorrow. My instructor said I might get lucky and get my license before my birthday in mid February. That would be a sweet bday present.

That would actually be UNLUCKY. If your license is issued before your birthday, it will expire in 2016. But if it is issued after your birthday, it will expire in 2017.

Yup, check the expiration date rules. I want my CHL issuance delayed until after my mid-Feb birthday and tried to time my application according to the 60 day wait.

Your initial license will expire four years from your next birthday after it is issued. If it is issued just before your birthday, it will be valid for just over four years.

I'm not new to firearms, but I am with the CHL and that's why I am here. My application is in the background check phase at the moment.

Hi all, new to the forum. Tons of great info here! I am new to CHL, just recieved my plastic this week. I decided to get my CHL because I have been shot at before and did not much care for it...lol. Long story short, a few years back me and a buddy were standing outside of work and noticed a guy smacking around a girl accross the street from us. We went over and yelled at him to cut it out. He ran away from us and disappeared, a minute later a car comes screeching around the corner and I hear gunshots. I realized he was shooting at us and the only thing I could do was get down. Luckily he missed and drove away. That experience combined with the economic issues in America today have prompted me to get my CHL.

I am a veteran, NRA member, and Infraguard member.
