I am happy with the function of my LC9 -- except the trigger pull is long by design -- perhaps too long. Run about 75 to 100 rounds monthly -- rough total of 300 to 400 since October. One FTF that was a faulty round; no FTE.

I keep it clean, and it will function upon request.

No long distance target has much to fear, but a 21 foot target (i.e., threat) can easily be stopped.

PS: for anyone considering the LC-9 - CTD was advertising them for $299.99 in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Sunday. Went by today and picked one up - the XYL seemed to like the grip on the LC-9 better than my PPS, so we're gonna give it a try. If nothing else, it'll be a good pocket gun for the times when I don't want to wear the PPS.

As others said, the call to Ruger went well. The company emailed me a UPS overnight label and I shipped the LC9 today. Off it goes to Ruger.

Received my repaired LC9 from Ruger today.

Items replaced: Firing Pin Spring, Hammer Catch Spring, and Firing Pin
Ruger fired 42 rounds without malfunction

Now I'm trying to decide if I can trust this 9mm after some range time or if I should just buy a PPS and move on? It's hard carrying a gun you don't really trust. In any event, the service experience went fine.

I'm not sure what horrible is to you when talking about a trigger, but compared to my SR9c, the trigger on that LC9 is horrible. I, too, am glad I got to try someone else pistol before I went and bought one. I like Ruger products just fine, and only wish I could afford more of them. But after pulling the trigger on my buddy's LC9, I put all thought of that purchase out of my mind. I have an old P89 (my first new pistol ever) and I have no problems with its trigger, even though it is long and heavy-ish in DA mode...just as a comparison. Tell me what pistols you consider to have horrible triggers so I can stay away from them!

I took my first trip to the range after the repair and my LC9 is working fine so far. Put about 60 rounds through it.

MoJo - I hear your point on being a beta tester. I've learned my lesson and next time I'll wait until a model has been on the market a little longer. I think that's decent, common sense advice.

Glad to hear the CS people at Ruger treated you well. I had an LC9 that had issues with light strikes and FTF's when I got it. I sent it back on their dime and they fixed it up. When I got it back I fired 100 rounds with no failures and sold it. I guess there is something to be said about buying a gun when it first comes out. Unfortunatelly, being new to this way of life I didn't realize I purchased a newly released firearm. Can someone let me know when the LC9 was first released to the market? I really liked it and I hope Ruger can get it right...

Walther/ S&W get the PPS spring/slide stop jam & extraction issues worked out yet? I almost got one, decided not to yet... in case you look at used ones ...

IIRC, it was announce early this year (maybe at the SHOT show - don't remember), and local stores (DFW) started getting 'em in middle of summer.

CTD still has 'em for $299.99 till supplies run out. I seriously though I'd use it as a backup for me/ little gun for my wife. But, I just couldn't get used to the long trigger pull. If it weren't for that, it'd make a good concealment gun, IMHO, pistol-of-the-year-or-not.

I'd also like to have an LC9 but I bought an SR9c last year instead. I wanted to wait a little longer before getting the LC9 so Ruger would have the time to fix all the bugs, if any.
