So I bought a used M&P today from the local gun shop and it only came with the large grip. I called Smith & Wesson asking if I could buy the medium and small grip from them and they shipped them to me free of charge. Thats some great customer service :clapping:

The 9C mags don't usually come with the finger grip extension. Every time we have called them, they have shipped the extension plates free. Always a pleasure to deal with S&W.

I'm happy to report I got the exact same customer service from S&W. I didn't even ask for a pinky extension, had a question about the operation of my new M&P and the guy just offered one to me. I asked how much it was, assumed they were trying to sell me an accessory. He said, it's the low low price of free! What's your address? It arrived about 3-4 days later in the mail.

Smith & Wesson really is determined to make a customer for life.

Wow, that's awesome. Maybe GM, Ford and the other automakers could learn from this.

I jacked up the trigger on my M&P 45, trying to be a shade-tree gunsmith, thereby voiding the warranty. I sent it to them, expecting to be billed for the parts and labor. Instead, they warrantied the work, sent the gun to their custom shop for a real nice trigger job, and shipped it back to me on their nickel.

I have no complaints at all about S&W customer service.

I wish they would have extended me the same courtesy when I emailed to ask them about a flat base plate for my magazine with the pinky extension. While I like the pinky extension for range duty, it hinders the conceilability of the gun a little for me, so I'd prefer to have the flat plate on both of my magazines. Maybe it would make a difference if I called. :)

In my (non-gun related) experience in dealing with customer service, I've found that getting on the phone with someone can make a big difference. Not always but it can.

I have to say, accounts like this are one of the things pushing me towards considering one of the M&P pistols as my carry gun.
