I have a Burris 3-12x50mm XTR Tactical scope on one of my rifles. It's a pretty decent scope. I would imagine that the Burris magnifier is of roughly equal quality.

I also have an EOTech magnifier on my Carbine. Yes, it was a bit pricey. But it has very clear glass, and it works exactly as advertised. On the flip-to-side mount that came with it, it sits at exactly the right height relative to the sight, and it is every bit as rugged as my EOTech sight is.

I am of the school that your investment in optics, regardless of application, should be at least equal to your investment in the rifle on which they reside. They are an integral part of the overall system. Why make them into a "weak link" if you can afford not to?

Most people cannot afford the optics (I am one of those people). I wanted a Remington 700SS 5R, but I knew I didn't have the cash for a decent scope so I passed on it and bought a Daniel Defense carbine with a Nikon 1-4 scope. A week ago one of my customers bought a 5R set up the right way, bipod, custom Pelican case and Nightforce scope. Cost of set-up = $3600, not many people can afford that.

i figured that was the case when it came to optics. i am just trying to outfit my ar with a couple of "toys" that will help me at longer ranges that are compatible with my eotech 512. all things considered i tend do some "research" before hand and this checked one of the blocks. thx guys.
btw that 5r setup sounds extremely nice, just wish uncle sam would pay me a little extra to get one of those :patriot:
