I don't like mag disconnects either. My Ruger SR9c came with one - it took about 10 minutes to remove it. I am hoping the disconnect on this model will be just as easy to remove.
and now we have come full circle on the topic. while I would have no problem taking off the magazine disconnect on a range pistol as i have done once before i would never do it (personally) to my carry piece due to the potential legal implications if you ever had to defend your actions in court. while i don't think it would be the one thing that sends you to jail, you could imagine the ludicrous arguments a prosecutor could make against you. i just don't like the thought of having to defend my actions in court of modifying a firearm.....but hey to each their own with their own weapon

Indeed. Why order a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and pick off the mushrooms? Better to order a pizza without mushrooms in the first place.

But... but... mushrooms taste so good... :biggrinjester:

If weapons had only two features to chose from, that would be a great analogy. But they don't. There are literally dozens of considerations for any firearm purchase - especially one for EDC. For me, the SR9c was the best match I could find for my desired characteristics. All I had to do was get rid of that tiny little mag disconnect.

Maybe a better analog would be buying a BMW and removing the stability control instead of just purchasing a Lexus. Just kidding.

I considered the legal implications. I even asked the question here on this forum. But I'm not really too concerned about it. The same question comes up with using JHP ammo. In spite of potential legal complications, we use JHP because they are the best tool for the job. Same argument here. The SR9c with the mag disconnect removed is the best tool for the job - for me. It was better than other options - even those without a MD new.

Based on recalls of other Ruger handguns, I wouldn't consider it until it's been out for at least a year and they have time to work out the bugs.
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.

This is my feelings on manual safeties on my carry guns....

That might lead to thread drift, but I couldn't resist :biggrinjester: other than that, the LC9 looks like a winner ;-)

Hey Im not sure where I should post this, but I'm new to the site and new to conceal carry. I have bought a new ruger lc9 , was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good holster . Not sure how I want to carry yet. Inside pants or what. I have been eyeballing the smart carry holster, any other suggestions please?

I think I read on Comp Tac's email newsletter that they will soon have models available for LC9. Check with them ... great holsters, great Texas company.

I ordered a DeSantis Tuck This II for my Keltec PF9. I would fit the Ruger also. It hasn't come yet, so I can't really report anything yet. :waiting: :waiting:

I just ordered an IWB double clip from Kwart over on the Glocktalk forums for my LC9. He has 45 pages worth of reviews and comments on his holsters. Everyone seems to love them.

After hearing about the LC9, I was VERY excited about it. Checked out some reviews..... I was all ready to get one.....

I dont like mag disconnects and manual safties, but they were not deal breakers.... Stopped by the local gun shop today after work and checked one out.... the trigger has an EXTREMELY long pull.. the trigger does not break until pulled pretty much all the way to the rear..... did not like it AT ALL....

Dang... and I have a $300 credit to spend from a trade in... lol.. OTOH... they did have a nice S & W 357 that would make a nice addition to the stable... this time next week I may be the owner of a 4 in 686 lol

I've heard people say really nice things about Uncle Mike's pocket holsters. The one for the PF-9 should fit it just fine. But that's for baggy cargo pants or shorts.
