Re: ammo on sale
Cabela's has 55gr HP .223 Herter's brand for $4.29/20rd box. Ive never tried it but at 21.5c per round worth a look.
Anyone shot this stuff? Made in Russia steel case but I would like to find something better than Brown bear which I have bought at ATG in the past for 25-27c per round.
HP is a big deal to me since I cant shoot FMJ's (Rifle) at my range.

Re: ammo on sale
Just picked up 2-100 round boxes of WWB .45 acp ($32.99) at the walmart at West road on the North side of Houston, there were about 5 boxes left. Overall they had a good selection of all types of ammo available.

Re: ammo on sale
Cabela's has Federal American Eagle .223 on sale again, this time at $5.99/20. It's $7.99 in the store, but they WILL match their on-line price. Bought some today - also had a couple of coupons and some Cabela's bucks. Price out the door for a couple of hundred rounds came to the equivalent of under $200/1000. (Read what I said - I didn't actually buy that much, but it gives you an idea of the final price.)
Hint - if you're anywhere near a Cabela's, you really need to become a Cabela's Club member. Their prices are usually not the best, but if you work their sales and make use of the coupons they frequently send out, you can work a pretty good deal on occasion.

Any good deals on .380 in Plano area? They've been hard to find and expensive.

Better deals on rifle ammo?
Here's what I've been paying at Ammoman.com for rifle ammo:
5.56 55gr FMJ Lake City: 447.50/1000
5.56 55gr FMJ Wolf: 219.00/1000
7.62X39 125gr FMJ: 209.00/1000
.50 BMG 249.00/100
They don't charge for shipping. Has anyone found better deals locally on rifle ammo? Thanks, Derek

Re: ammo on sale
I am up in the Shenandoah valley (Harrisonburg) in Virginia and took a quick look at the ammo prices at the Walmart there. MUCH higher than my local San Antonio Wallys. They only had a few boxes of .40 S&W and these were all over $25 for 50 and NO .32 acp or 380 acp. .22LR was about $11 for a box of 330 Winchester hollow points. God bless Texas! Our local Wallys isn't good about 380 but generally has SOME on the shelf and always has lots of .40 S&W at quite a bit less. .32 ACP is always an issue so I buy it online. Our local Wallys has .22LR at $15 for 550 for Winchester hollow points. Prices on everything are higher up here.
