With the exception of my two .380s, I would be comfortable in a fracas with any of the handguns in my safe.

I have 4 guns in my carry rotation (more than that in the safe, but I use only 4 for carry purposes). Three are .45 semi-autos, the other a .357 revolver. Of the .45s, two are 1911s, and one is an M&P. I wouldn't carry any of them if I wasn't confident in my ability to shoot them. That said, even though my 1911s own my heart, I would probably choose the M&P 45 as a last ditch gun. I shoot it nearly as well as I shoot either 1911, and it carries a couple more rounds (10+1) than my Springfield (8+1) or my Kimber Ultra (7+1). I have 4 magazines for it, so a 40+1 round loadout only requires 3 reloads instead of 4 if I wanted to carry 40+1 rounds for my 5" 1911, and 6 reloads for my 3" 1911.

But all of that is purely hypothetical. I don't ever plan on having to maybe do one reload (while I'm running away), and I don't bother carrying 41 rounds of .45, else my pants would always be falling down.

What's the pistol or revolver you would want to have in your hand, given the s-h'ing-the-fan?
I want my hand on a pistol far away from that fan! The rest of me too. :rolll

At home my second choice is my AR. On the streets it's my Glock. That's why it's my carry gun.

Whatever's handy. One of my M&Ps and/or a 2" snub is what I have on me most of the time. In a really bad situation I want a long gun - - - either an AR or shotgun with slugs. :evil2:

One of my M&P's. I have spares for basically anything that could/would break or wear out. I don't have to call the manufacturer or place an order for parts. :thumbs2:

Actually, I might be acquiring a XDm .40 possibly..
Friend wants to get the new XDm .45, but can only afford one gun at a time.
Figured if he 'pulls the trigger' on the deal, I'd gladly buy the .40 off of him so that he could purchase the .45 :thumbs2:

And no... I never plan on owning one of them G-things... About the only other polymer handgun I like right now, other than the XDm, is the P30 ;-)
