supertuck deluxe since Dec 09. no discomfort or issues. Even with heavy sweating in shorts and no under shirt. Love it!

Re: Which IWB holster do you use during the summer time?
When I started carrying, I began wearing a plain ol' cotton undershirt, no matter what outer/cover shirt I wore. That worked just fine until recently, when it started warming up. The cotton undershirt/cover garment combo was just getting too hot! I first tried to holster up (Minotaur MTAC) without an undershirt at all, and I didn't like the feel right off the bat. I'm not sure how it would actually feel wearing it for very long, as I didn't even want to try.
As the weather is getting warmer, I still wear an undershirt, but have recently discovered the benefits of 'wicking' undershirts. In the past, I'd always wondered about the real ability of 'wicking' materials to do any good at all; but, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised at how cool I remain when wearing one of these shirts. I definitely will be going back to buy more. They're a little pricey at around $10 - $20 a pop, but hey -- I'm a hot weather weenie!

Kholster half-moon for my SR9c, with a wifebeater undershirt. Otherwise it just sticks to me, and I can't see any other leather IWB not doing the same thing. Undershirt is mandatory in my book.

MTAC Minotaur — Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. But I always wear an undershirt. I'm a fatboy, and public decency demands that I wear them....

Re: Which IWB holster do you use during the summer time?
crossbreed all the way. Also made my own version with leather scraps.. Its actually fun so i also have a new hobby. But anyway, the xbreed is nice with shorts and a larger than size tank-top. Works great. they make top notch stuff.
Re: Which IWB holster do you use during the summer time?
I have used the Crossbreed Supertuck as well as a leather holster similar to the Milt Sparks holster. Either works just fine.
I like to wear shorts that work with a belt and a fairly loose fitting T-shirt. If you like tight T-shirts, you might have issues. Hawaiian style shirts or stuff like that works well also from what I hear. Cargo shorts also have that lower pocket that you can slip a spare mag into.

03Lightningrocks wrote:Funny you mention this. I use a supertuck and it is (rough side) leather on the side against my skin. I noticed I was getting an itchy sensation on my side and looked in the mirror. The leather was putting a rash on my skin right where it lays against my side. I have been pocket carrying a lot lately with my Kahr P380. I am getting lazy and it just seems easier to stick holster and gun into pocket than holstering up with my belt and all. The added benefit of no holster rash is gravy.Stupid wrote:You don't get rash on your skin with this big plastics stuck to you?
I can't stand extra layers of clothing in the hot Summer, so no extra T-shirts etc for me.dewayneward wrote:Stupid wrote:You don't get rash on your skin with this big plastics stuck to you?dewayneward wrote: http://www.kholster.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
full moon for my 1911. Feels great, less filling :-)
no, the (Kholster) holster part that rests against my skin is (smooth side) leather. VERY smooth....like air.
I use a Rob Durham Comfort Carry (smooth leather against gun and smooth horsehide liner against skin.
The smooth horsehide is denser and doesn't absorb sweat as much as leather can, and is more comfortable than rough side of leather against skin.

I also sometimes use a Rob Durham quick clip all kydex (similar as the "Rip-Cord" without the cord... or a Kholster sometimes ... depends if I'm going kayaking/swimming or going to be inside in air conditioning some.

Another vote for the Super Tuck here, best I have found. I always wear a light, sleeveless t as an undershirt. Not real comfortable against the skin without one.

I have qty of 5 milt sparks holesters. You have to wait about 6 to 8 months to recieve them. That is because they only have 5 people working on them. The the quility is second to none. Just my two cents.
