which gun show?
theres a gun show in late dec at the pasadena convention center, and another one at the george r brown convention center in jan... which one do you guys who have been to them do you think will have better deals?
im looking for glocks, mossberg shottys, and accessories for both?
ill be back from afghanistan, out of the army, and back in houston a few months before then.. and im going to try to find those three things on the open market, but ive never been to a gun show so i gotta go, and i told the wife we arent buying each other xmas gifts this year.... until we get to the gun show
other than that... cheap .22lr plinkers (revolver or ar-15's would be cool) and if they can beat classicarms on ak-47 prices maybe ill hold out till then on that too.

Re: which gun show?
I went to the Pasadena Gun Show and was not impressed.
It was small and the prices were high...especially on Glocks.
Never been to the GRB for a gun show, but have heard it's the one to go to.

I agree with what you already heard. There are 2 different shows in Pasadena and neither one is great. Reliant is the biggest but George R.Brown is good too. The one good thing about Pasadena is free parking.

Re: which gun show?
if you go to Pasadena's, go to the high caliber gun show, it has more weapons of all kinds, less trinkets and better prices than the other promoters gun show

Re: which gun show?
It looks like both shows are High Caliber Gun Shows so they will have alot of the same vendors although there are always more at GRB. The Houston Gun Collectors Association usually has a gun show at Reliant in Jan. IMHO it beats both of the others.

Re: which gun show?
I have only been to Pasadena Gun show but the price for Glocks didn't strike me as that different from regular gun stores. Certainly it wasn't anywhere near a huge saving worth waiting for. That was just my finding, others may have different experiences at other gun shows.

Re: which gun show?
I would say that GRB had better deals on Glocks don't buy from the tables up front when you first walk in. Usually the better deals are in the back. There is one guy there that specializes in glocks and customization. He had some pretty decent deals. Don't remember exact prices off the top of my head but the cool thing is you can buy the gun and he will put on any sights you like and even does extended mag and slide releases which is good. I had him put on Trijicon night sights and an extended mag release on my G19 and got it all for less than $125.00 installed. He carries the pearce mag extensions also if you are looking at a sc.speepdaedeesi wrote:which is the best for glocks?
If I can find his card I will update with his company name. I think it might still be in my truck.
BTW this guy said he only goes to the shows at Reliant of GRB.

Re: which gun show?
I've only been to the Pasadena Gun Show so I can't contrast it with the GRB show. But that said, I didn't find the prices on guns to be all that great. Some of the accessory prices were good though. FWIW, one shop that has good prices on Glocks is T's Guns and Ammo in Texas City. They're lower than Academy based on what I saw last time I was in there. Good luck!

AJC usually has the cheapest prices on Glocks at any show they attend, Bachman Pawn meets their price or runs a close second but their have been some reports of poor customer service from them.

Re: which gun show?
on AJC's Glock prices. I bought my 23C from them at a Pasadena show. Other dealers didn't even have a "C" model. They handled the transaction quickly and professionally.bauerdj wrote:AJC usually has the cheapest prices on Glocks at any show they attend, Bachman Pawn meets their price or runs a close second but their have been some reports of poor customer service from them.

I've only been to the Pasadena show. I wasn't looking for Glocks, but I was looking for a Springfield subcompact 9mm. First table I walked up to had it for $425 brand new with XD accessories. Bought it and then walked the show. Didn't find a lower price.

Re: which gun show?
I'm pretty sure the poor customer service reports were from their Store, and not their gun show people.bauerdj wrote:AJC usually has the cheapest prices on Glocks at any show they attend, Bachman Pawn meets their price or runs a close second but their have been some reports of poor customer service from them.
I've bought from them at shows before, and had nothing but positive to say. I agree though, AJC and Bachman are usually the 2 best deals at the GRB shows for most anything I'm looking at.
If one of them doesn't have the specific model you're looking for, the other one should.
IANAL, YMMV, ITEOTWAWKI and all that.

The Reliant show is great if you like antiques, jerky, nicknacks and overpriced ammunition.
