ranberndt,

Glad to see that you put the title "Great Dad" before the others!
Uh, is it a universally-held opinion? ;-)

Welcome!

I know I sent you a welcoming PM, but welcome again Piro. It's good to see you're getting your CHL at 21. My youngest son was 22, but that was in 1996 so that was the earliest he could apply. When he friends asked why he got a CHL, he'd tell them it was to keep me from excluding him from my will.

Ya I had my online application saved up before turning 21 ready to submit when turning 21 on june 12th, but then had to go out of the country shortly after and I completely forgot. Then started a class and never got around to remembering lol. Waiting on dps packet now but will take class that provides if I find a good time in the next half month.

Thanks Cotton and carlson and everyone else whose posted welcoming people here btw. Got lucky on google or else i would have never found this place.

About me.
I am 26 years old, male.
I have taken the CHL class, but have not yet turned in my paperwork.
I shoot mainly a Kimber Eclipse Target II, I have been shooting rifles and handguns since I was about 5 years old. I do a lot of hunting and fishing. Proffessionally I am a System Administrator (computer guy), but I also raise White-tail deer. I used to be a boy-scout and am very into outdoor activities. Politicly I stand somewhere in-between Republican-Democrat-And Liberal. I am anti gun-control, pro- private landowner rights. I am joining the forum to learn new things, and add my 2 cents on open carry and simmilar issues. ( I am pro-open carry)

Jhutto-
Nice to have you with us! You guys lost a wonderful range recently. I hope that Mike is doing well and trying to get something else together. I visited Dripping Springs for the first time back in August and ate at the Nutty Brown Cafe.....good food! I look forward to learning from your experience. Take care.

I stumbled across this forum last night, while researching how much trouble it would be to carry into the State Fair. Figured I'd sign up and introduce myself.

26 year old female in Dallas.
Single, no kids
Broadcast engineer for a local TV station
Carry a Springfield XD-9mm SubCompact or Colt Pocket 9
Just renewed for the first time in April.

Carry on.

Welcome V-chik and Jhutto.

Chik, there is a recent thread addressing the State Fair, if you search for it...you will find quite a few posts.

Jhutto, what do Dripping Springs and Henley look like these days? I haven't been through that area in about 20 years. After my daughter gets out of college my wife and I will probably move back to that area.

Great to have you both aboard.

Welcome aboard. We are glad to have another lady. Sometimes stumbling winds up being a good step.
Good carry arms.
