Try to have at least two of them on me when ever I can. One is none, and two is one. :rules:

I REALLY wish the Glock didn't feel like crap in my hand...otherwise I'd have one already. Nice gun :thumbs2:

how do you like the Taurus 1911? I've been lookin into getting a 1911 but don't want to spend a grand either, I will, i just don't want to.
I'm really leaning toward an STI Trojan, Kimber Tactical Custom II/Desert Warrior/Raptor or even a DoubleStar. All checkn in at 1300.00 or less but if I can get a nice, quality gun for 600.00-700.00(like the PT1911) then I'd deffinitly be open to that. But if I'm gonna spend that much money I want to get somethin good in return. If I have to get a Kimber or STI and drop a grand or more I will. Just curious. It's a pretty sweet lookin rig though with the aftermarket grips!!!

I am very impressed with the PT1911. I have read some excellent things about the gun and narrowed it down to the Taurus or a Rock Island Armory 1911. I have read some peoples comments and dislikes of the gun, but it was on early models (2006) and that some have complained of Taurus' customer service. When I held it and was able to feel it firsthand, I was quite happy with the quality of the gun. I have friends who have various Tauri(?) and all have seemed to be extremely reliable and a good bang for the buck. The fit and finish, while not that of something like a Wilson Combat, is very good. It also costs a quarter of the price. The lockup is excellent for what it is and the slide to frame fit is tight and the trigger feels quite good for a high volume, off the shelf "budget" model. The trigger breaks very cleanly at a crisp 4lb with no real discernible creep. I have had a chance to take it to the range several times and have since put over 500 rounds through the gun. After the first time out with it I changed out the plastic "double diamond" grips as the checkering on it was too aggressive and the look was rather plain. I replaced them with a set from VZ. The gun is highly accurate and will group under 2" at 15 yards. I have shot several Kimbers (which I like) and feel it was easily as accurate and as well put together (maybe better so on a few accounts) as some of their lower end models costing a grand or more.

Updated pics of my current carry family. I have three in the rotation at the moment, all would be carried in Crossbreed IWB holsters. My smallest is a Kahr PM9 (great gun). The next is a Sig 239 SAS/DAK that I bought here on the forum. Its so nice, I realize I rarely feel like holstering the pistol. The third is German proof P228, which is the largest pistol I feel comfortable concealing.

Here is my Kahr in its holster:

As soon as I get my plastic in a few weeks i'll be carrying this.

CZ 75-P07 Duty. It's their new polymer pistol.
9mm 16rd double stack mag and the grip is still thinner than my little single stack Bersa .380, impressive.

Don Hume holster, looking for a more solid belt mounted IWB. I'll use the little Bersa for carrying with shorts or a t-shirt.
