Tha Alamo Help Please
Morning did a search but was unclear if you could carry at the Alamo. Read one said ok and another that it had to be checked at Ranger station. Any help would be appreciated as were going today. ThAnks again.

Re: Tha Alamo Help Please
They have signs stating that everyone needs to check their guns in to their pretend rangers, but they are not legally enforceable.

Posted by forum member Photoman. I should think new signs should be up by now.

Here is the reply I received today:
Dear Mr. S----,
CHL holders may carry firearms on the Alamo complex. If you read the
currently posted rules and regulations when you visit, you may see the
outdated version that requests CHL holders to store their weapons in the
Ranger Office for the duration of their Alamo visit. You can ignore that
because it is no longer valid (if it ever was). New signs with the revised
rules and regulations are currently being made. The new rule prohibits only
unlicensed firearms.
Enjoy your visit,

Re: Tha Alamo Help Please
Cool, finally someone with some sense in charge!
After all, what if all the volunteers that entered the Alamo were not allowed to bring their guns/knifes?

Re: Tha Alamo Help Please
Visited The Alamo today, 3/23/2010; looked for a compliant sign, didn't see any. Some reference to checking guns in the fine print of the posted rules.

You see, it pays to check this site before heading out on a trip. I went with my folks and wife today. Got to the front and read the rules. Went back to the car locked her up and went in... I should have checked before leaving. -- Never again leave without checking..

Re: Tha Alamo Help Please
Does that mean that the outdated signs are still up?
Re: Tha Alamo Help Please
I have gone to the Alamo many times and carried every single time. Not one problem. Even if the old signs are still up you can carry as they are not 30.06. As stated above you will be asked to remove one item...your hat.
So, carry away and enjoy!
