Cool...I'll be at some of them.

Has anyone every attended the Hi-Caliber in Houston? Is it worth going to or should I just wait for the one at Reliant?

Yesterday I saw an ad for The Original Fort Worth Gun Show this weekend. This is the big gun show held at Will Rogers Exhibit Hall. It and the Market Hall show in Dallas are my 2 favorites. It's much larger than the High Caliber Gun & Knife Show held at the same place.

They have a pretty decent selection as long as there is not another show in Pasadena at the same time; then the vendors tend to split between the two and the selections are not as good. The one at Reliant is bigger but doesn't come around as much as the one at GRB.

I do not understand, why there is entrance fees for such shows, Sellers are paying money too. Food Sellers pay money too. Why the entrance fee?

The sponsors of the show are "for profit" entities. Business people just trying to earn a living by filling a need. And doing a pretty decent job of it too. ;-)

If there is a no entrance fee, the seller are happier as well as the buyers. If they charge, $5 per table, that should be more than enough to balance it out.

I've been to scores of gun shows, but never one without an admission charge.

FWIW, I was at GRB December 5 and 6. Pasadena was having a show the same weekend. I was told by those that went to both that Pasadena was dead and just about everyone went to GRB.

The Reliant show was a big disappointment last time I went. Expensive entry fee, overpriced parking and not even close to the door, narrow selection of guns, mediocre gun prices, crazy high ammo prices, lots of non-gun stuff like shamwows and jewelry. I won't be back.

It looks like AJC will be at the GRB show downtown but not the one at Reliant. http://www.ajcsportshop.com/shows.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's a gun show at the GRB next weekend. Saturday they also have "Houston Dynamo Girl Try-outs" at GRB.

That sounds like a fun double feature. :lol:

There's also a gun show at "Big Town" in Mesquite the weekend of Mar 6-7. Scanned the list by the original OP and didn't see it listed.

If there was no entrance fee, you'd get all sorts of riffraff. I've seen technology show's try it a couple of times and you get lots of lookers without any interest at all in buying.
